Afternoon all, can I join the 'I had a rubbish night's sleep club' too? Have been so tired recently, think I might start of the vit and iron supplements again. Not even sure why I stopped taking them!moneysaver12 wrote: »
Im so confused today. I am at university due to go in to my second year, when i started i was doing psychology with counselling and have changed to doing psychology. Now im not sure if iam doing the right thing and if doing psychology with counselling will give me more options when i graduate. The reasons for changing were that for both my assignments in counselling i didn't do well, first one was due to the fact i got confused between two approaches as they are similar in that freud started one and then there is a more modern version. The second one was because it was a more reflective report i didn't think i needed to reference my work as much as i normally would so this pulled my mark down a lot. I worried that if i continued to do badly in the counselling side of my course, as its one third of the course it would pull my final degree down. Also i wasn't enjoying it that much, i think this may have partly been due to that we were repeating a lot of what i had already done at college and the rubbish marks i was getting. At college i enjoyed it more and did much better in my assignments. I know that uni is different to college and it will be harder. I was told that i was good at the reflective part and that we would be doing more of this in the second year and that i would do well at that. Also i did well in the counselling sessions that i was assessed on. Just so confused.
I think you need to have a chat with a tutor about your best options - you might be better off getting a lower degree class in a more useful subject than a better mark in a less useful one in terms of getting a job at the end of it. It sounds like you have a really good understanding of why you got the grades you did too which is half the battle when it comes to improving next time. For what it's worth I've got a first class with hons in Linguistics and Phonetics - very very interesting but totally useless. I also founs the first year a real struggle and got a 2:ii at the end of it but got my first by miles at the end - it may just be that it'll take you a bit longer to 'get your head round' concepts but once you grasp them you'll fly.
Talk to someone though, good luck with whatever you go forUpdating soon...0 -
Hello all
in-laws have gone home, weekend wasnt too bad they arrived at 8pm friday eve as traffic was horrendous and took them 7hrs to do a 4hr journey!! They took us out for dinner last night which was nice and have also ordered us baby play mat and a changing bag as only things we really need.
Off to cinema this afternoon to see toy story 3 much to husband's disgust but hey he likes it really just would rather see a more macho film.
baby has moved down now, moved friday night suffered braxton hicks all night was not a pleasant experience but bump is def lower.0 -

Hi all
kitkat - I think if it was me I'd also wait til due date, but that's easy to say now, might change my mind in a few weeks!
sir monster - stay put vibes, hopefully just bubs changing position and BHs. xx
blackout curtains/blinds - I am going to get linings too as then when we (hopefully) move we can take them. The curtains I have for bubs' room are like these, so very light. I only paid £10 on ebay so even with linings will be reasonable. I've heard dunelm and B&Q do linings, must look around for some actually.
Took my service this morning, was hard work and I had to sit for most of it, but I managed and people seemed to enjoy it. No more to do now until I decide to, probably not until after easter I'm thinking.Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -

lol rach its so weird its not like its warm outside or im too warm i just want cold stuff! then it sends this baby mental doing somersaults inside me!
im totally convinced baby is breech now.when i was examined at hosptial and the midwife they said bubs was head down. and during that time i had loads of pressure and very limited movement from bubs. then early last week i felt my biggest shift inside it was like everything had flipped round, and now ive no pressure down there and bubs is moving much more? do you think my GP will be able to check for me tomorrow or does it have to be a midwife?0 -
dream - i would think some GPs would be able to tell which way, depends how experienced they are with pregnancy! One of our GPs previously worked in obs so he's good!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0

Dream: I can tell the baby is sucking it's thumb or hand as the one side of my bump moves up and down, I can just about feel the head and a arm and hand right by it at the same time. It was doing it on the last scan
I've also had cravings for cold stuff, tescos rocket lollies r my favourite food ATM. I had a slush puppie last week it was heavenly!
Rach: just spoke to my sis and I'm going to hang on until my due date until I see this woman. I'll let nature run it's course! Should really make the most of it just being the 2 of us as I imagine things will be a lot more stressful when the baby is here!0 -
aww kitkat that is sooo cool. i can never tell which of the babys body parts are sticking out, i have a large lump sticking out at the moment but dont know if its a bum or a head :rotfl:
il ask him tomorrow to have a feel. id like to know now so i can try and do those manouevers to get him back to head down if i can before he has no room to move back.0
