Now you've got me worried, I have blinds all over the house, including the baby's room... perhaps I'll need to be taking them down...
I'd wait until the baby is mobile before worrying too much.

Rooms like the kitchen and bathroom are less likely to be 'playrooms' and tend to have higher windows, and remember you can always loop the strings over the top.

It's only the bedroom ones I'd say def get shot of, as that's the only room they're really 'unsupervised' in whilst you're asleep.

*taps fingers patiently waiting for these babies*;):)

Well I didn't get anywhere near a bed last night... not even my PJ's. Completely impossible to sleep on my sofa especially in non nightwear but there was no way I was going near DH in the bedroom just so he could have a go at me:(

Exhausted and after a few days of feeling "ok" I've gone back to not being able to stand:mad:

DS said just now that I'll be loads better once the baby is out... bless him!:D

    Hello!

Sometime in the baby safety section of the supermarkets (or mothercare) you can get a device to fit to blinds that takes cord out of reach......they look like a little box that you wind the string into. We bought some for blinds in DS1s room but never fitted them as DH tied all the cords out of the way!!!

Morning ladies, sneaked on my mum's laptop before we go out for the day. Sorry to hear ladies had a rubbish nights sleep as I did too . . Woke up at about 4:30 with really bad back pain and strong period type cramps/pains. Took a couple of paracetamol and had to get up and watch tv. It eased off after an hour (also after scoffed 2 slices of toast as really hungry!!), not sure if that is to do with paracetamol or just eased off . . Anyway was wondering is this strong B/H as normally seems just to be tightenings, hoping isn't start of something as just turned 34 weeks today and so not ready yet!

Enjoy your days and hope something happens with KK and Xmas soon

Hi, I had really strong BH's last night too and I am 33 weeks - I couldn't sit downstairs so ending up going to bed early but they lasted over an hour with me too no matter which way I was lying to try and get comfortable. Eventually it stopped and I managed to get to sleep but I don't like them being like that. :)

Hi everyone, hugs smartie, hope you can get some rest today. Sending labour vibes to those who need them.

Im so confused today. I am at university due to go in to my second year, when i started i was doing psychology with counselling and have changed to doing psychology. Now im not sure if iam doing the right thing and if doing psychology with counselling will give me more options when i graduate. The reasons for changing were that for both my assignments in counselling i didn't do well, first one was due to the fact i got confused between two approaches as they are similar in that freud started one and then there is a more modern version. The second one was because it was a more reflective report i didn't think i needed to reference my work as much as i normally would so this pulled my mark down a lot. I worried that if i continued to do badly in the counselling side of my course, as its one third of the course it would pull my final degree down. Also i wasn't enjoying it that much, i think this may have partly been due to that we were repeating a lot of what i had already done at college and the rubbish marks i was getting. At college i enjoyed it more and did much better in my assignments. I know that uni is different to college and it will be harder. I was told that i was good at the reflective part and that we would be doing more of this in the second year and that i would do well at that. Also i did well in the counselling sessions that i was assessed on. Just so confused.

In the Homes & Holiday mag that came with the Sunday Mirror on 25th July for "Hot this Week" is an article about black-out blinds, as quoted below:-

For anyone who needs to sleep during the day, babies, toddlers, shift workers etc - blackout blinds do a fair job but they often "leak" light at the top or sides. But now Magic Blackout Blinds are here and they don't. Although described as a blind they come on an 8 metre roll with perforations at intervals. Cut to fit and they cling to the glass with static. Even blazing midday summer sunlight can't get through. When you're done sleeping just peel off and store for another day. Pros? extremely effective - Cons? Must be reapplied each time. They cost £32.99 at Halfords (www.halfords.com, 0856 057 9000)

Seem a good idea, going to recommend them to my daughter as when the kids sleep here I have a black curtains with blackout linings in my bedroom and they seem to sleep loads better.
Oh, and she had her 20 week scan last week and found out she is having her 3rd boy.........her husband says "my fault apparently" did n't like to agree with him. Never mind boys are lovely and very loving !

Sweaty I would recommend same as Delain, wait until baby is mobile and decide then. We might even keep ours in the babys room and make sure the ties are out of the way. We have venetians in the kitchen and bathroom but I can barely reach the fittings myself!

Smartie *hugs* hope you feel better soon. You've had it pretty rough lately.

My OH still isn't awake! Might go wake him up!

Don't forget ladies (and gentlemen) that if you have a black out blind (or not) it's good idea to have a little lamp/dimmer light too for when bubs wakes and you want him/her to go back to sleep:)

I feel like hibernating until bean is here... but I can't cos I got to keep an eye on you lot here *sigh*;):p

I don't want to miss out on babies being born!!

Hello there - I would focus on what you actually enjoy to be honest. If you weren't enjoying the counselling side, then I would stick with just psychology - I'm not sure it would give you less options when you graduate, and if you wanted to work in counselling later you could always do a evening course or something. Also, if you're not enjoying it, that can be reflected in your marks...

But if you do enjoy the counselling side and your main concern is about your marks, it might be worth having a chat with a lecturer/tutor and ask them their view on how you're doing. Some people can tell if others just are not on the right wavelength for some subjects (this happened with me, I was interested in but rubbish at one of my subjects - I decided to drop it as a subject, but was still interested enough to read up about it etc).

How soon do you need to make the decision?

I feel like hibernating too until this baby shows up :) just wish I could sleep! I just remembered OH has got some work booked for tomorrow so I'll be home alone all day :( kinda glad he's been out of work so he can keep me company.

I swear all this baby does is suck it's thumb!
