  • Yesterday my DH was lovely.

He has a stinking cold and still came home and did the dishes and cleaned the house without being asked. It was lovely as I'd had a really crappy hormonal day and spent most of it in tears watching puppies or orphaned children on the tv.

Yesterday my OH went to work before I got up and got home late so as soon as he was here I rushed out to work, so if he was in a grumpy mood I missed it thankfully.

claire I think the story was about not eating for two, I saw it too, OH mentioned it and quickly said its obviously written by a man. I agree that whilst you don't need to eat for two whilst pregnant it is very difficult to ignore the hungar that you have when pregnant, it is not like normal hungar. I get it early on and have to eat pretty much constantly or i'll be sick, I'd do anything not to be sick. Now I'm back to eating normally and towards the end when you are allowed an extra 200 cals a day I probably will be eating alot less because everything sends my blood sugars soaring.

I do make OH sounds quite bad but they are all the incidents he has had with DS, none with DD who is really careful so I think he thought DS would be too, but DS has no fear and is a danger to himself, such a boy. He helped with everything except nightfeeds because he drives for a living I don't want him tired at the wheel, he would often stay up and do the 10pm feed though so I could go to bed early and got up for the morning ones on the weekend to give me a lie in, just never the middle of the night ones.

To be honest, apart from occasionaly not thinking before he speaks, he's been really good so far. He's stopped smoking, is doing loads more housework and cooking, and doesn't complain when I have an off day. It's our 1st anniversary on Sunday so we're going out for posh dinner...will be our first night out together since the evil morning sickness and tiredness passed...really looking forward to it :D.

oh smartie, I've put on around 1 stone 7 lbs, although when I asked round, it can vary ALOT, one girl I know who's like a size 10, put on 6 stone with each of her pregnancies, I can't imagine it. A couple of girls barely put anything on.

sorry still trying to catch up, so there may be more randomness

If you are a skinny minnie to start off with you need to put more weight on than if you are a chunky monkey to start with. Its all over the news today about weight gains in pregnancy but its such an emotive issue. I couldn't have sat down with a woman and told her she was fat! Nanny State - they dictate what should be said but dont have to be the one's doing it or pick up the pieces!
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

    Morning Ladies and Gents!

Well I had a fantastic nights sleep, the best I think I have had in 8/9 months! I am not sure if this is why; but I put a couple of drops of clary sage oil on my pillow; I have heard it can be quite relaxing. I slept right through from 12pm until 7am, didn't get up once for the loo which is a miracle! Feel very tired for all the sleep today but I am sure it will do me good!

I also have no experience of babies, at all really! Held my 1st baby about 3 weeks ago and I was terrified!! I am sure I will be fine with my own, but it will take some getting used to and I imagine I will be so scared of dropping/ hurting him or her. I am dreading going up and down my stair case as they are narrow and go around 3 corners, its bad enough when I am going up and down them empty handed!

My OH mentioned that story to me too :rotfl:

He knows that I'm actually eating a lot less now than I did before I found out I was PG as sometimes I just can't face cooked food.

I've still managed to put loads of weight on though!

delain - i am the same with cooked food, I just get so hot eating it especially if I've cooked. Last night I cooked a spag bol and boiled some pasta, not exactly slaving over a hot stove..and I had to go and have a cool bath after!

KK - great news about the sleep!

We had microwave indian last night - naughty me! Still ate less than half of what I put on my plate and that was less than I usually would :o

I think I'm going to make myself a nice big salad for lunch today, spent a fortune in Sainsbury's yesterday on fruit and salad ingredients as it's just about all I can eat. I was disappointed in their frozen raspberries, they seemed to have all frozen into a big block. When you get them from Tesco they come in a plastic tray which makes them easier to eat straight from the freezer! I seem to have become slightly addicted to them, but I don't really like fresh raspberries, if I buy fresh ones cheap i freeze them before eating :o

Also managed to get DD1 her special pens and pencils because they had them on 3 for 2 (£6 odd each left handed stabilo grippy pens) because that was what the physio's at Poole suggested for her.

KitKat I'll have that kind of sleep tonight please... I must have woken up for no real reason 8 or so times!

Tinks: congrats on the bunting it looks lovely!
