    Morning lovely ladies.

My missus had a MW appointment yesterday and they have found protein in her urine, coupled with the fact that shes had some really bad upper abdominal pains and swellings everyone seems to think its pre-eclampsia. Anyone else had experience of this? shes 27 weeks today so we're nearly in the third trimester. If it is pre-e im afraid we may be queue jumping at some point.

    Hope you're all ok :A

What's her blood pressure? If it's normal (i.e. around 90 or less for the bottom number) it's unlikely to be pre-eclampsia as far as I know...

is 'everyone' the medical staff or well meaning friends and family?!

    hope she's alright.

I love your bunting Tinks, I'm planning on making some for baby's room too (when I unpack my sewing machine).

I had some good crafty news too - some of my designs have been published in this calendar http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sewing-2011-Day-Day-Calendar/dp/0740797077/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1280349576&sr=8-1

Thanks Honey. How cool is that to be publised :D:j:beer:

The MW mentioned that she is showing signs of pre-e but didnt confirm it, she has sent a sample off to the hospital so we will find out for sure. Apart from her its mainly friends/family.

Not sure what her blood pressure was, this is the one time i couldnt go to the appointment with her.

    Thanks for the replies :)

    Morning ladies and gents

Re eating I think I have become a troffer of late (i.e. eat far too much!).

Bufger hope things are OK, protein can be an indication of pre-eclampsia or a urine infection. I had protein in my wee a while ago and they sent it to be analysed re the type of infection but the other symptoms do indicate pre-eclampsia, hope bubs doesn't come too early.

Nene seems like a good deal!

Didn't sleep great last night as was late home from going to see Wicked the musical which me and bubs seemed to enjoy (he was moving away like mad to the music!). Anyway only one and a half days to the wkd . . .

Nene - it looks like a good deal. I got a different one from Argos a month or so ago for the same price. You use then to help with pains during pregnancy and help during labour. My theory was for £5 it couldn't hurt!

Not sure who asked about TENS. But I copied Smartie and got the one from Lloyds Pharmacy. Just waiting for it to arrive. I asked my midwives opinion before buying and she said that anything that could help with the pain was worth a try. If you are after hiring though, it may be worth asking your hospital as mine hires them out and is a bit cheaper than other places, with some money going to charity. I didn't hire as I knew it would be a hassle to pick up and remember to return.
