  • I hope everything is ok with you PP... you've got us all worried!

I just had my home birth assessment which went ok to be honest... but she said that they don't supply Pethadine so if I want any pain relief other than gas and air or my tens machine, then I have to go in to hospital. Oh, and paracetamol. That will help I'm sure!

I was under the impression that Pethadine was pretty standard in a home birth? Don't get me wrong, I didn't really want to use it anyway but was just surprised at the little amount of pain relief available!

I'm thinking that I'm brave but I'm not sure I'm that brave!

Anyway, congrats to all the new arrivals, and I love the name too Sonee!

Hope everyone is keeping well, and that you can get to see someone asap PP. xx

They do have mobiles the midwife herself gave me hers. If she is already out and about they should be able to contact her and get her to come and see you.

That was the point.. they won't.. they will leave a note on her desk on the off chance she turns up later.. but she might not.. and she might not be on for a few more days after today and the message will not be on anyone elses desk so it won't be picked up until she is next in. Told you they are superb here!! There are 4 on this team.. which is the biggest area in the city apparently.. but they don't need many as a lot of the residents are students unlike the estates which are smaller areas with larger teams.. only 2 are ever on at once.. usually only 1 is on though.. it is insane!!

anyway.. I am going for a stomp to shop.. see how many little people I can stamp on..

Some authorities don't allow pethadine at home birth mine does and I still have my dose from the last labour in the fridge . I doubt I will need it if I give birth at home I have had to have it in hospital as I get so stressed out

Pigpen... I hope you can put your stubborness to one side and accept any kind of "being checked out" for bubs sake. I was given my midwife's mobile BUT that was when she was kind of enough to offer a heartbeat hearing for DH and DS. I wouldn't want to use it now:o

We were told at antenatal class that even though all midwifes have a "work" mobile not all give out their number.

I'm in extreme fed up-ness:( I feel crapper than before I went hospital. Tried to go shopping, walked in shop, nearly collapsed:mad: Poor DH has to do everything for me now. It's got to the stage where I just want to give up:o

BUTTTTTT..... something to cheer me up a little:j:j:j I GOT THE SURESTART GRANT!!!:D Still don't understand how we could be entitled to it with both of us employed and not getting any benefits apart from tax credits?? Oh well. It's much needed as we need the money now for our vistis to hospital (parking, petrol, grabbing food from where ever) and we now have to get car seat.

I saw that when it was on a while back. Those women have some serious issues!

PP, please get checked out. I know your midwives are useless, but I'd hate for anything to happen to bubs :(

I'm back. Test was fine, wee was ok thankfully! I did think I was going to collapse a couple of times as I was so hungry though! And I had a job keeping the gross glucose drink down. But all done now, and she said the fingertip blood test was only 4.4 so I should be fine. She seemed to think it was a waste of time me having the test (was only as my pre preg BMI was over 30!

I took a jam sandwich with me which I ate the moment I was done!

Friend coming at 12 for lunch out so no point in getting down to any work til this aft... ;)
    :o

    Me too!

And if you wanted to be REALLY MSE you can use the diluted "contents" on your plants instead of baby bio :p
oooh, must try...must NEVER EVER let DH see that though....

I am trying to stay off the m&S sale but I may succumb after lunch!

WW would be fab, we could either do Starbucks/neros or the greasy(ish) spoon cafe depending on what you fancy. I might have some charity shop stuff too actually.

nene- great bump, must get DH to take one, the last one is still on the camera and because he uses certain software I don't know how to get them! I reckon I look way bigger than 29+5 looking at the ladies in the hospital this morning!

Smartie, sorry for being nosy but this is something I have considered applying for but doubted would get so I might try now! OH works normal full time job but I only worked 12 hours per week. Do you think it is worth a try? Also we only get the normal tax credits of about £42 every four weeks but no other benefits either.... we have two little boys already. It would come in useful! :o
