kitkat with my first I had sugar in my urine (was a first morning sample as appointment was 9am) at 28 weeks they did random blood tests and my sugar levels were so high I didn't need a GTT. I had no symptoms whatsoever of diabetes. I was diagnosed the same with DS at 28 weeks from a GTT that came back borderline because I'd had it before, and TBH when I checked my levels regularly and was on insulin I did need it. It had no real effects except slightly larger babies, not alot, my sisters was bigger than both of mine and it disappeared afterwards so apart from having to watch what I eat in the later stages it really isn't a big deal if you do have it. Hopefully not though x0

I have a problem with the hospital because my BMI is in the ridiculous range... If it was normal I wouldn't have any extra appointments...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Hass and rach I haven't any major probs either, just little things like a urine infection and bad indigestion but all sorted out with some drugs!
Nearly 31 weeks and my appetite seems to have increased massively - did anyone else get this in their 3rd trimester?? I know the advice is only to have an extra 300 calories, but seem to be having more than that!! At my docs today seem to have put on a stone or about 8kg - not sure if that seems excessive with 9 weeks to go . . . .Thomas born 28/08/2010 weighing 5lbs and 4ounces, small but perfectly formed :j:j Now weighs 19lbs and 5 ounces

I must be one of the odd ones out. Both the hospital and Mid-wife havent discovered anything with me. In fact at my last scan - 20 odd week one, was told, 'Everythings spot on' and 'have a nice labour'.
My midwife likes to describe me as perfectly boring. Everything has been spot on average.
Have had 2 scans, 2 blood tests, and 5 midwife appointments.
If anything I feel a bit neglected lol
I'm pretty much the same... every time my MW sees me she says she daren't say it because you get shot down in flames for using the word but I am very 'normal'... only weird thing I have had is leukocytes in my wee for the last 10 weeks or so but nothing else to go with it!
Man it feels like the baby is so low down now, crossing my legs is actually impossible!
Did anyone watch Dragons' Den last night? It actually had me blubbing... dunno if it was preg hormones or what - the bit with the 24 y/o girl who'd started up her own ice cream business and had a 4 year old little boy...0 -

totally gutted hospital phoned today to say that my iron was 10.9 so they want me to start taking my iron tablets
but she also said 10.9 isnt that bad she just doesnt want it to get any lower. i really really hate those tablets the constipation is unbearable!! dont know what to do!! so she said ive to get my bloods taken again in 4 weeks to check if the levels increase. might just chance it and see what happens i know loads of people whos iron has been far lower and theyve been fine.

That's weird... i just got my iron results back and I was 10.8, and the MW said that was hunkydory?!?!0 -
Read through but am useless so sorry if I missed anything big...
PP - loving the very tidy schedule of birth dates in your family - hope this one sticks to your routine and pops their head on monday!
1more - congratulations! - love the name darcey, so pretty
Bunny - sorry to hear about your poor dog, its so horrible when they go
Smartie - feeling your frustration with hospitals - how is it that they are soooooo incompetent?!
Sun and bleach for grubby whites
and... Kai Stuart gets my vote.
Still here at 40+3; had sweep this morning which wasn't too bad but hasn't done anything yet. Midwife said cervix was soft and she got 2 fingers in for a decent sweep - I'm not sure how good that is though? Had a bit of blood since but nothing else - praying it sends me into labour soon. Anyone know if you should stay active after the sweep or get some rest - I suddenly feel like I could turn in for the night now! Think its something to do with the hefty workout I had this morning trying to shave my legs/foof in an attempt to retain some dignity before the MW!
Blood yesterday morning has not turned out to be a good thing - as I haven't gone into labour and am rhesus neg, they have decided I better have the anti-D injection again just to be on the safe side... cue a trip to the hospital tomorrow..
Lolo and lozchops - how are you getting on? Loz - I'm also out with dates - by my reckoning, I don't think I'm due til the 16th but the MW assured me its not my dates that count lol! Better ur way round as at least you get more time before the dreaded induction...
hope all are well x
Hi Kym
My midwife said the same thing! We don't care about your private scan, our dates count, not yours! In fact sonographer at 20 weeks was really funny with us for having it - I really wanted to explain it was a nuchal scan, so a medical scan, not just for fun of it (they aren't doing nuchal scans in my PCT until next year I think).
I'm rhesus neg too (have have 4 anti D's now lol)! I was wondering about that if you loose your plug and there is blood do you need another anti D? I can see how you would now, but no-one has said anything to me about it. I feel like I have been sort of left in limbo now! Like, see you when you are in labour and not before!
So, if you were me, would you feel more comfortable (if you had to have an induction) leaving it till term + 12, which would be term + 17 by my dates? Would like someone else's opinion!
I have been walking round a shopping centre for a couple of hours today in the hope that that might get her moving! I have been home a few hours and she has been moving like mad. Does anyone else's LO's move so much that it really hurts? I feel like my skin is going to burst open I really do. It is so painful. In fact those kicks of weeks back in the ribs were positively pleasant in comparison!
I hope she comes soon as I have carpal tunnel in both wrists, swollen hands and feet and legs! I had a lovely pregnancy until I finished work lol!! Winter baby if I have another I think!!
Hopefully Lolo is having some mummy cuddles! Hope the sweep works and am sending you labour vibes! Take careDebt Free Wannabe - work in progress and maternity leave is going to hinder somewhat, but we *WILL* be debt free.
First Baby due 12 July (overdue!) was Team Yellow, but looking very much like Team PINK!

Good to know it's not just me. I weigh about 6 pounds less in the morning when I'm not so swollen (how gross is that )
I don't mind though as I don't look like I've put that on and everyone keeps telling me I'm all bump so I'm hoping I'll just lose a lot of it quite quickly!!!0
