So, if you were me, would you feel more comfortable (if you had to have an induction) leaving it till term + 12, which would be term + 17 by my dates? Would like someone else's opinion!
I have been walking round a shopping centre for a couple of hours today in the hope that that might get her moving! I have been home a few hours and she has been moving like mad. Does anyone else's LO's move so much that it really hurts? I feel like my skin is going to burst open I really do. It is so painful. In fact those kicks of weeks back in the ribs were positively pleasant in comparison!
Hey loz - I'd just leave it all as long as possible as I so badly don't want to be induced, but that's me. The MW said yesterday instead of the induction I could have constant monitoring at the hospital to check the placenta isn't deteriorating, etc, but its the same thing to me - I just really don't want to end up in some hospital wired into their mainframe! I'm sure babies come out when theyre supposed to - what did they do back in the days before induction - surely there weren't people wondering around with 11 month pregnancies?
This LOs kicks hurt sometimes too - its like she's trying to see how much she can lift my tissue with her limbs before it rips open - either that or she's confused and trying to come out forward lol
Enjoyed reading back - pigpen's exchange with the doctor's receptionist has literally made my day! :rotfl:
Anyway where is everyone today?0 -
Lol at PP dealing with phone pests :rotfl: when they ask me for the homeowner I just say 'oh ok I'll just get her' and then pass them to the youngest child present, having told them that someone wants to talk to them about ITNG/cats/whatever so they waffle on and on!
It doesn't work so well now the twins are older, but soon there will be someone to burble at them :rotfl:
I don't want to be induced this time, it's happened to me twice now, isn't it supposed to make everything more painful? It'd be nice to find out if it's easier this time!Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

My babs seems to want to break through the skin at the top of my bump its so sore i can barely touch it but have had to rub my oil in to get some relief. I swear my bump has doubled in size in the last two weeks and so has she i can feel her everywhere. I really do feel like she is going to put in an early appearence but she has to stay put for at least 3 weeks or bang goes my nice relaxing home birth. I will have to stand on my head and shove a cork in there if anything starts to happen ;-):jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0

Delain i have never been induced but i have been told that it does make everything more intense so would explain the more painful theory. Fingers crossed for you to go au natural :-):jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0

Thank you! I'm hoping she will make an appearance in late August tbhas OH is away between the 1st and the 9th of september and I'm due on the 7th. Plus the kids go back to school on the 3rd, I've got no idea who could pick them up from school if I went into hospital, and I'd really not like to be doing all the running around at a penguin waddle!

Morning all
Delain; I hope you don't have to get induced, I really don't like the idea of it, although I am sure if I go overdue I will be begging for someone to get the baby out!! But I believe they will come when they are ready, I wonder what the longest is a baby has ever gone overdue?!
My sister just phoned saying she has ordered me some bits from the Next sale for bubs in older sizesand is going to look this weekend for more
Really feel like this baby is trying to get out, anyone else get this?? Constant pushing down and almost feels like trying to wriggle out? Its probably just gravity, but it does feel weird.. and makes me walk funny!!0 -

Unfortunately he's working at an event so it is when it is! It's not too far away though so he shouldn't miss the birth.
It is bad timing, my Mum works in a college and there's no way she can get time off in September. She is coming to stay with me at night though.
Hopefully my nan will be able to help. She's spoken to my mum about it, but not to me! Probably because she doesn't want me to think she's condoning it, she's still trying to make her point that having another baby was a silly idea :rotfl:Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

Warning TMI especially if you click the link! but in answer to kitkats question.
The longest recorded pregnancy that resulted in a live birth was 375 days as opposed to the usual 280days however there is some speculation that the woman miscarried the first pregnancy and concieved again more or less straight away without her knowledge. But her doctors dismiss this theory.
The longest a woman has ever carried a baby was 47yrs it was found in the womb of a 70yr old woman. Many years ago in some countries there was no medical care at all and if the baby died whilst they were carrying unless they had the money to have it removed they just carried on with normal daily life. Apparently as long as the sac the baby is in remains intact then it acts as a preservative for the child. They obvioulsy operated and found that the baby had fully calcified inside her.
This is a link to a similar story from above but i warn you do not look if you are at all squemish http://www.scielo.br/scielo.php?pid=S1516-31802000000600008&script=sci_arttext:jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0 -
