I always come on this board to moan, but I am really excited about being pregnant, and looking forward to having another child
Bit random, but just thought I would share!0 -

I'm 14+ weeks now, and we are off to France on holiday next week.
We booked it pre-preg, and I'm a bit gutted that I wont be able to eat lovely things like cheese, pate, shellfish (I'd avoid anyway just in case) and wine...boo.
I was thinking of having the odd glass of wine..maybe one every other day? Any thoughts on this pleeeeeease?
Hiya
I haven't really stopped eating or drinking anything throughout this pregnancy (was a bit more careful during the first 12 weeks but also just threw everything up so didn't fancy alcohol etc.), after I actually read into the reasons behind all the ridiculous 'rules' about what you're 'allowed' (my most hated preg word).
Have had runny eggs, pat!, cheeses, drunk a glass of wine/bit of beer at least once or twice a week.
When we went on holiday to Portugal at Easter I had something to drink every day  I did feel a bit guilty but bubs was absolutely fine.
If you're feeling weird about it just have a read of some of the information and it'll put your mind at rest but just do whatever makes you happy!BudgetBlonde wrote: »I'm trying to make the next 10 weeks go faster by writing lists. I'm just on my "things left to buy" list and have got to monitors/thermometer and wondered if anyone had any suggestions. Money is tight(ish) but I want a really good one, baby will be on a different floor to us after the first few months when it goes in its own room so I need one with a good range.
Thermometer wise, do I need a pricey fancy gro egg-type one or can I just get any old cheapo room thermometer?
According to the 'correct' temperature for babies our room is constantly way 'too hot' for a baby which is ridiculous seeing as babies are born in countries that are hotter than ours. I'm just going to feel whether the baby is too hot and not worry about the room temperature, they can just go down to a vest or even just a nappy if they are still too hot wearing more...0 -
Thanks DP. I've been lucky in that I didn't suffer any sickness at all the first 12 weeks, and my appetite hasn't changed at all really. I still love food!!!
I've eaten runny eggs I have to say. I really craved them actually, and hard boiled eggs just do not cut the mustard!
What were the reasons for avoiding stuff you mentioned above out of interest?Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
The not eating runny eggs is because of salmonella... Which Lion stamped eggs are vaccinated against! My OH is driving me mad with it. I've gone 25 whole years without catching it... I'm hardly going to get it now they vaccinate the chickens am I :wall:Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession

loz - awwww that really cheered me up to know im missed.... im a bit in limbo.... not preggers anymore but dont feel grown up enough for the parent thread..... Landen is doing well thanks hun, we're now attempting to build a sort of routine, he's feeding well and slept like an angel this morning for me. Took him out on my own for the first time.... and he let me get round the whole of primark restocking my wardrobe
mummy's special boy
LOL
I sound like a stalker but I come on every day and you posted every day so it is weird not having you post!!! The parent thread - I took a sneak peek - it does seem to be grown up, far too grown up for me!!!
What sort of routine are you doing with Landen? I have 2 friends who have just had babies, one is doing Gina Ford and the other the Baby Whisperer. I like the idea of a routine, and have both books so think I will just use them as templates and make my own. Landen sounds a perfect little boy! Letting you get round Primark - 5* to Landen!!!Debt Free Wannabe - work in progress and maternity leave is going to hinder somewhat, but we *WILL* be debt free.
First Baby due 12 July (overdue!) was Team Yellow, but looking very much like Team PINK!

MV - the official line is 1 or 2 glasses, once or twice a week, so your plan sounds fine to me. I've lost the taste for it (along with everything else) and more worried now I'll never want to touch a drop again!!!We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0

Similar here...... initial paranoia as bumps father is an alky, so I wasn't drinking anyway (psychological-having a drink in front of an alky is like giving them permission that you find it ok.....odd I know) so I had sort of lost the taste
Runny eggs, all for them, i too craved themPrawns by the shed load as well.
In fact, just not eating pate or unpasteurised cheese.0 -

:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: stupid f'ing hospital and one more  for luck:p
After LOTS of sitting around and in and out of consultants room I'm home:) Saw another consultant this time who yet again failed to even look at my notes properly and thought I was 23 weeks???!!! That's when I had last scan and he assumed I had just had the scan done!!
Him "why haven't you had scan today"
Me "you tell me"
Him "I can't do much without blood test results and there probably isn't anything wrong"
Me "look in your paperwork stupid man and you'll see them"
Him "oh ok there is a problem... *lots of muttering that I didn't understand*... go sit down in waiting area" (again:mad:)
And so it carried on....
Spoke to someone else who said no point in scan... there's a big enough queue for one!!! Maybe have one another day.
I've got to go to delivery suite on Weds:eek: to have an injection and for monitoring. Then appointments every week:(
Blood pressure high... I wonder why that is!!:rotfl:So bloody annoyed with that hospital:mad: Had to stand at reception desk for flipin ages to even book in!! Not good when you're about to faint:o
