Boyfriends other son is 9 years old, wont ask for anything unless you offer it, wont do anything for himself and has to be asked about 5/6 times to do anything and that's if he decides to listen - he's an only child at home and spoilt rotten by his grandparents and mother and his diet consists of all the major food groups - takeaway, processed junk and deep fried.:eek::eek: he couldn't tell me where chips came from!
:(:( Not the first kid who couldnt tell you that alot of kids dont know they are made from potatoes, it does make you wonder what on earth the parents are thinking. I would still let him do with out and just offer when you are making for yourself he will soon get the picture.
Ben is more independent though but not sure if thats because of my upbringing - parents were in the RAF so brought up with a very disciplined father, rules and was left in the holidays under the care of neighbours at 8/9 years old but with our own independence (oh for ben to have the same freedom I did) so I had to fend for myself to a degree and ben has that head on his shoulders too. He is 6, can make himself a drink, has his own little 'chores' (getting the dogs bowl, puts his toys away before bed, tidying his room) , has basics down (take your plate out, clothes at the washing machine etc). He lives on a diet of fruit, veg and fish. Not too keen on meat though but he's getting better - plus he knows how to bake! lol
Strange how two kids can be so different.
Your Ben sounds like a real little trooper you must be so proud of him. Wish the same could be said for mine my Ben (due to my own making) is a bit of a baby he is improving though slowly and i think he is enjoying being able to do for himself he is 8 now and its a mistake i will not be repeating with bubs or the new one when she pops out. My DD on the other hand is little miss independant and would rather do for herself maybe thats why i over compensated with Ben as she never really needed me for anything even from the age of about 3 i used to ask if she needed help and all i got was "no me do it" and 9 times out of 10 she would.:jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0 -
Ok
very strange but I think I had another show this morning.
Went to the toilet after a spot of cleaning and can only describe it as it looked like...................um.....................
lets just delicately say a 'gentlemen's substance that got me in this situation in the first place!'
No pains though but still have cleaning to run round doing. xTime to find me again0 -
ooh sammy maybe today is the day. hopefully the cleaning may set you off, you know running about and the gravity and all may help. just wanted to ask you when you get a sweep is it sore??0

Hello ladies :hello:
Still no news for you then Sammy! I hope you get somewhere with starting things off today.
The monsters have gone off to some kind of church event with my nan and then we're off to a bbq later, so it's nice I'm on my own for a bit as OH is working today. Should go and finish the housework really lolMum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession

morning everyone x
Sammy good luck for today x
Xmas my little girl sounds just like yours and she is only 5. So independent, can do everything for herself and knows all the rules apparently. Sometimes I think she forgets she is one of the kids not one of the parents lol. DS is the opposite but if I'm busy he does try to do things for himself although I'll always remember the time he came to ask me if he could have a banana whilst I was in the bath, yes you can. About 30 minutes later I go downstairs he is stood watching tv holding his banana because he couldn't get it started lol
Well after my moan about OH yesterday, he got up with the kids this morning, sorted their breaskfasts did all the washing up. Got them to tidy all their toys up then sweeped and hoovered the lounge. So I managed a lie in till about 7am and feel fantastic because of it.
I've been feeling kicks today already so it's starting to get a bit more regular and I'm pleased with that.0 -
