    Do NOT miss any painkillers

I never had any, totally unnecessary... the drama queens on the ward were whining for them 5 minutes after having them.. and one mega wuss (I wanted to punch her face in!! I think the staff did too) was wailing loudly.. She was told to !!!!!! eventually lol

And I sure as heck didn't need morphine.. however once the e-coli infection (spread from bowel to bladder when they do the catheter) kicked in after about 5 days.. I wanted to die!! I was on AB's for a month..

I am so used to being in pain I have a fairly high pain threshold... arthritis is good for something!!

I posted a few days ago about thinking my waters had gone. Went to hospital to be checked out but she thought I was ok.

Today I have (sorry if tmi) been leaking fluids on and off all day and evening, im having to wear pads and change on a regular basis.

Im sure its not urine as its got a strange smell, almost like sweet babys milky sick - sorry its the nearest thing I could describe it to. Question is do I make a nuisence of myself and risk being made to feel silly or visit maternity unit again.

I am 40+2 days does this sound like my waters have broken, Im not having any contractions but am having braxton hicks.
I hope that my child, looking back on today
    Will remember a mother who had time to play;

I was fine when I had them (love volterol) but I needed them :p

Morphine, I didn't actually need but they give it to you anyway. I think it's actually just to make you sleepy and happy so your not whinging when you have your catheter in. Cos as soon as it's out, your on your own! :rotfl:

With DS2, I only had paracetamol and co-codomol which did nothing and I was sore. But I think that was more to do with the abruption, I was bruised hip to hip, but I did have massive amounts of blood seep into the tissues which caused swelling. And then the 3 days kept asleep didn't help, it just made everything stiffen up. I still couldn't get out of bed without using the electric sit up buttons after a week! I would have taken everything with him.

Didn't complain though, I was far too ill.

Make a nuisance of yourself Jay... It's what they're there for! :D

Get it checked out and take the pad with you they can tell instantly if its urine or your waters and its better to feel a little silly than run the risk of an infection :-)

What pads do people use, ive using always but the fluid seems to soak in and the pad always seems dry to the touch

I dont think it matters what pad it is (as long as they arent scented) its the smell they check if your worried it may cover the smell somehow then use an old small towel or something similar it would probably help if it was fresh so maybe wear it on the way there and use that for the midwife to check then put your normal pad on once there :-)

jayjay... I'd probaby not go tbh.. you will know soon enough if it is def. waters that have broken or not. A 'gush' if you rock back and forth is a clear giveaway... or cough/sneeze.. depends on your pelvic floor I guess. Feel your bump.. does it feel the same? once my waters broke my bump was much smaller and the babys limbs were very clear to touch.. Trust your instincts!!!

    [self indulgent]

I AM IN PAIN (not as much pain as last night / this morning) - I have an infected tooth / gum and it HURTS and I just want to feel sorry for myself :(:(

    [/self indulgent]

    hugs to everyone

I can completely sympathise with you, I managed 2 hours sleep last night due to the pain in my gums, the dentist told me to use corsodyl mouthwash, the mint is ok but it makes your sense of taste funny! My dentist is also pregnant and is having the same problems! I did have to go today for a small filling small cavity was irritating my gum more than normal:mad:
