  • A bit jealous of all your good weather, it's peeing it down here ( northern Ireland ). Think baby's head moved down yesterday, I can hardly walk today, feel pressure and a bit of pain. Hurry up sammy, think me and pigpen will be barking at your heels. Definetly feel baby won't be cooking for too much longer. I'll be 35 weeks on Wednesday

nothing to be jealous of mylittlesister it is unbareable. Been in the car this afternoon and for some reason when OH fitted the radio he must have knocked the wires for the air in the car cos it wasn't working grrr. All fixed now though.

Pigpen I have a fan and it is currently blowing warm air at me :(

I've had a few cold showers to cool down the last couple of days and it works for about 20 mins then I'm too hot again. I have to sit in the shade with my feet in the paadling pool but I have to keep topping up the paddling pool because the water gets too warm.

It's not so bad today with no school runs but I'm not looking forward to the next 2 weeks. Can't wait for the school holidays.

    Hello all

did last night of night nanny work last night did more weeks that thought I would just did 2 nights a week so parents could sleep and help them get her into a routine and she has been sleeping through now for over a week from her 10pm dream feed til 6-6.30am which is what they wanted. Came home at 7.30am and went to bed til 11am.

We have tieded garden -well husband has - dug up potatoes and picked some beans for dinner so we have those with pork belly for dinner

also picked the blackcurrants - ANYONE KNOW HOW TO MAKE AN INSTANT TYPE JAM?? - ie one that doesnt need preserving etc I remember sophie dahl doing it with raspberries and was 250gm raspberries, tablespoon sugar and juice one orange literally over low heat and squishing the fruit down - but now sure this would work with blackcurrants - also will add some strawberries to it - but would probonly make equivalent of one jar so cant be bothered with the whole sterilisation thing and we would eat it all in a week anyway.

Doing a boot sale tommorow have 2 bin liners full of 3-12mth baby boy clothes from where people have given us stuff but some of it has been wrong season for size or not to my taste so putting those into 3 boxes sized 3-6, 6-9 and 9-12 with 20p an item or 6 for £1 and then mid morning will change it to 10p an item to get rid. Plus have loads of other bits and bobs to sell.

Taking a graco travel system we were given but wasnt what I wanted and the person didnt want it back - its puschair, car seat, cosy toes and raincover from google searchs cost around £149-£200 new cant find exact same one, in good condition - so thought we would ask £20 at boot sale - is this ok? wont be offended if you say its too much.

    Hi all

Am still here. The midwife couldn't get her finger inside my cervix to stimulate the membranes and said it was to slippery and not short enough yet but baby's head is engaged finally.

Although when she took her hand out she did have lots more of the horrible gunk stuff all over her glove and said that was a good sign and was another show. Have had a bit more since but not as much as when midwife was here.

No pains or anything though although have managed to

    * talk boyfriend into not having his other son this weekend.
    * cleaned the whole flat bar changing the beds and washing
    * rechecked my hospital bag
    * gotten a small 2oz bottle for the first few feeds and two small
cartons of formula milk just in case I cant breast feed for whatever
    reason.

Am bored senseless now though - I have got a changing bag finally so might sit down and make that up with Benjamin in a bit to give us something to do and realised I need to do a clothes wash of towels and underwear!

Also when I was going through my hospital bag earlier I realised I had put in 3 body suits, and 3 outfits but in reality it will probably be easier to have her in sleepsuits. SO changed that now and her bag includes 3 x body suits with coordinating socks!, 3 x sleep suits, 2pk hats, and a thin coat all in various shades of pink and white. Oh and she has her new towel set packed in the labour bag so she can get washed afterwards.

Just realised I still need to put in a spare t shirt and bits for Owen.

Put two packs of fruit pastilles in too and managed to get Ben 3 packs of wrestling cards so have put those inside his 'I'm a big brother' card which is in my hospital bag too for his first visit.

Only other thing for me to do is to open the steriliser and get her bottles sterilised. Not sure if this will be a)tempting fate and she'll get her bum in gear or a waste of time because I'm not sure how long they stay sterile if I don't open the steriliser - its CTN Tommee Tippee Microwave one.

Also what's everyone's view on dummies??? I was given a pack of 2 Avent silicone dummies and the steriliser has a free one in it but Ben never took to his dummy - think its worth me packing one just in case?

    Hello ladies and babies!

I've been having a lot of pain on the inside of the tops of my legs and groin region. I do a lot of driving for work but now it's hurting when I walk and go up and down stairs. Don't know what it is but hope it goes away, it's very uncomfortable. The weather is starting to cool down here, thank god!

Just realised I'm 30 weeks tomorrow and I am really unprepared! x

Maybe she knows it's really warm out here in the world and wants to stay where she is, hope she comes soon!

I personally dislike dummies and didn't use one with my first. I found out from another post on here that apparantly they can help prevent cot death. Not really too sure now to be honest, would rather not use one but if it helps? Maybe your baby will take to one this time? x

I'd start it higher.. you can always lower a price and you will get a cheeky git offering less .. so if you have it at £20 they will offer £10.. if you have it at £40 you will get £30..

Dummies .. do you really want to stuff one in her mouth the minute she is born? I leave it as long as possible and see if we can manage without.. I think they are disgusting!

freebie I think that is a reasonable price for a travel system - I'd perhaps start at £30 then you can take £20 if they make an offer can always drop the price later in the day. I once paid £15 for an urban detour at a car boot sale that had seen better days but was fantastic for off road walking we done for about 6 months till it got a puncture, then we just ditched it since I needed a double by then.

Sammy glad she is engaged, shame about the sweep. Hopefully you are making progress now anyway so don't need it x Not sure how long the bottles stay sterile sorry. With the dummy its not normally advised to use one if you are breastfeeding till its established so I wouldn't worry about packing one in the hospital bag. Then again it doesn't hurt to have it with you just incase. Personally I doubt I'll take one with me to the hospital and I'll be staying in for 3 days.
