Sammy I've just noticed, if you go into labour next then you're going to ruin our pretty run of boy/girl/boy, so for my OCDness of having needing everything to look pretty & in order can your little girl hold on until we get a boy?!?!:D:D Thanks:p:rotfl:

Don't listen to her Sammy! I can't wait around on 2 people to pop boys! I'm already going crazy being on maternity leave - instead lets start a run of girl babies...

    PS congrats bexta!

Thanks Fuzz for the link! I quite like those mothercare ones as they're not all white, might see if I can pop into town on Wed :)

Tinks: I have that swing, I paid 49.99 for it. It was one of our 'luxury' purchases! It is good, seems sturdier than some I've seen and doesn't take too much space when folded. I'm really pleased.

Bufger: sounds like you had some bargains. I've got the silver cross 3d, it seems easy to convert from pram to pushchair, sturdy, looks good and is a good brand. I did find it heavy but not too bad. The car seat is quite light that matches it. Out of interest, what colour did you choose?!

I bought a swing for DS & he hated it, screamed the place down every time I put him in it as soon as it started to swing. He loved the regular bouncy chair though. For us the swing was a waste of money. I lent it to my sister & she had the same problem, baby was happy as long as it didn't swing!

Hi ladies, quick Q if I amy, as it feels like about 82 years since I had DD (only in fact 6!!)
My feet are REALLY swollen, as in actually painful now. Have been the last 2 days.
Do i need to do anything, or is it ignorable :D
I am about 22 weeks if that matters

    evening ladies (and buf)

emsy - I am pretty sure swollen ankles (or cankles :p) are 'normal' but I would speak to your midwife to make sure. Odeama springs to mind which 'can' be a sign of pre-eclamsia (I might be making that up so please do check with MW ;))

sammy - come on already with that baby ;)

tinks - I know nothing about placenta previa (or much else to be honest :rotfl:) but I wouldn't worry until you have spoken to the NHS scanner. Talking of which, dont tell them you had the private scan done as they might not scan you

Had a :mad::mad: hospital appointment today:
    I was strep b positive with DD2
Dr sent me for a swab as soon as she knew we were trying.
Midwife [off the record] made it clear that she didn't agree with non standard testing for strep b and assured me I could have a swab done at anytime for the 'discharge I was experiencing' if I was at all worried ;);)
Consultant I saw also did another swab at 12 weeks, said I would be regularly swabbed through to term if they continued to be negative (it can reoccur at anytime). Said if one came back positive they would obviously treat me at the time my waters went and even said that if my waters went and I had not had a recent test they would probably put me on the iv drip anyway as a precaution. (I have since 'spoken' to two FB friends who weren't even tested after they had it with previous pregnancies but just put straight on the drip once their waters went.)
Was supposed to see the same Dr today but got some 12 year old registrar who had a stinking 'I'm the Dr don't question me' attitude who seems to think that its all ok to not test me again OR treat me because my 12 week swab was negative!!!
I made it clear I was not happy with that and she said they would test me at 36 weeks, I AM happy with that but she said I didn't need to make an appointment until I had seen the [other] consultant in 3 weeks. I'm not sure why because this appointment is for a cervical scan - cant see why what she has to say to that or what the length of my cervix is would determine me making the swab appointment or not!!
I am just gonna book the appointment when I go in 3 weeks but I am gonna speak to my midwife too, the care I have had has been 2nd to none to date and the Dr has REALLY wound me up with her attitude [/rant]
    Also booked a 4D scan!!
    Sorry for the epilogue!!
    Hugs to all

Smartie - are you thinking of buying or renting a TENS machine. I also would like to use one for the birth but not sure which way to go, and which machine to get etc.

I've bought the Tens machine now as I had to go into Lloyds to get DS some antibiotics and I saw it there saying "buy me" so had to! Had a quick look and it looks good:) I'll put it on ebay or something after to get some of the money back;)

Hi Guys I love this swing chair Kiddicare have it for £59.99 any of you bargin hunter ladies (Smartie) know of any other deals around???

Or does anyone have it or has seen it?

I can't find it any cheaper after having a quick look. Not sure where kitkat got it from. As you don't need it for a while I would sit and wait for a good offer/discount codes (I'll keep an eye out for you of course;):D) although Kiddicare is the cheapest compared with everyone else. I can't seem to get a code to work there at mo:(

:D:D:D:D:D:D MY BAD BIG TOE NAIL IS OFF!!!:j:j:j When DS was seeing a nurse at the docs (about a bad toe too spookily!!) I mentioned to the nurse mine was very nearly off but NO-ONE is touching it... I just wanted to know if I needed to keep it covered when it came off BUT she said she'd have a look AND BLIMIN WELL PULLED IT OFF!!!!!!:eek::eek: Imagine me sitting there in shock trying not to swear!:rotfl:She said sorry but could see it was for the best and I'm ever so happy she did it:D A naked ugly big toe doesn't look good but it looks hopeful that a new nail will grow!

DS was ever so brave and has half a nail missing but it's looking a bit infected so I've got a dressing to change:eek:

I can now go through childbirth without worrying about my toe nail:T

Tinks: I got mine from kiddicare when it was on offer like tigtag said, I just remembered I paid for it with my tax refund when I sold my car! I would do what Smartie says and hang on for an offer :) it's bound to be on again!
