Another one hehe Those that have had GTT how long have you had to wait for the results? I had one on friday and they said the results would go to my GP who I assume will only be in touch if there is a problem.
I didn't get to ask the midwife any questions yesterday because after she couldn't find the heartbeat I was in a hurry to get DS and get up the hospital and forgot everything else.

    Hi

I don't post often but thought I'd respond. I had a GTT they told me if it was positive I would hear in a couple of days by phone if not I would get a letter within a week. Thankfully I got the letter.

My 12 and 20 week scans were both external. Had 2 internals at 6 and 8 weeks through the fertility clinic. Internal scans aren't that bad. Just like a smear but a bit less uncomfortable in my experience (had a lot as had fertility treatment/ tests etc.

I finished work at 27 weeks - took 3 weeks holiday and then mat leave. I was ready - suffer with hyermisis badly and am currently stressed with thought of moving house. For me it was right to finish when I did. However I won't be going back to work hopefully as I am hoping to emigrate.
Give me the boy until he's seven and i'll give you the man.

I do do that Pigpen but for some reason the tshirts prevents it from happening in the first place. i dont mind wearing the silly tshirts anyway i quite like them i was gonna get one of those sarcastic ones that got posted on here not so long back but i dont think it would be worth it now having only the 8 wks to go. Some idiot cut infront of me yesterday and nearly made me go flying so he didnt catch my bump the "OI DONT F!!king MIND ME WILL YA T!!T" Kinda stopped him in his tracks he skulked away then rather sheepishly after appologising.

Ive been and bought my material for my baby sling i got a lilac piece and a black piece £16 for both was only £2 a meter instead of the £5 off the internet :-)

I just like the stropping at people lol... It makes me feel better..

We have decided to have a drive round and do several things today I've been putting off.. namely buying a new duvet and duvet cover.. Need to go to bank.. take DD1 for her prom ticket.. off to dunelm.. pick beasts up on the way back.. off to tesco.. then for wool.. and should be fairly organised.. I want to nip to my mothers for my other wheelie case though so might squeeze that in later too.

thanks plumpmouse, well I haven't heard anything yet so hopefully it'll be a letter too. Only means I have to go through it all again at 28 weeks though.

I've had internal scans before so I know they are not too bad but if OH can't get back in time there is no one to watch the kids and they might not get it really. It just seems the reasons they do it are not too relevant to me so I could risk them not checking.

I have changed my scan date for the week later so we are back from holiday so its now fri13th at 5:40pm I asked for as late as poss so OH has a chance to get there. She said they will probably be running late as well so fingers crossed there isn't too much traffic that day.

DD has just been sent home from school, they think she has chicken pox, not sure if I've ever had it so just waiting for a call from the doctors, hoping he can confirm if she has it or not.

Congratulations Fernlie! Another brave home birth.

Had my 20 week scan this morning and all good/normal. No internals thank God, and I think I'll be refusing if asked. Do they insist on internal examinations later on in the pregnancy?

Shelley:j:j for no GD:j must be a relief

Merfe..hope you get a decent pic with that scan date!! Might end up with one like Smarties:eek::p:D

CL glad all is well, did you find out what team you're on or are you staying Team Yellow??

As for internals...I've never had one:) but I don't think they're as bad as they sound are they?? Isn't the camera a bit like a dildo?:o
Can't imagine why they'd insist on an internal scan further into the pg...i thought they just did them to get a better look at smaller foetuses, could be wrong though!

    Hi All,

Merfe - I had the internal as well as the abdominal scan. my area do them as part of some research for Kings College into Premature labour. The abdominal scan was very much like the 12 week anomaly scan. The internal (which you can easily refuse - I was asked my permission at least 3 times by the sonographer) checks a few things (cant remember all of them, but the main one being the length of your cervix). If they deem the cervix to be below average then they offer some sort of ring, or a pesary. Am not sure on the exact details of all this as mine is long so wasn't offered anything. I also cant remember the other checks they do as basically my results were all normal, so no great discussions were had.
I really wasn't looking forward to it, but decided to have it as it causes no harm. It didn't hurt at all and was only slightly uncomfortable - no way near as bad as smear.

Maternity leave - I am staying at work till I virtually drop (as long as there are no complications in the meantime) as I don't want to waste my ML without bubs being here and I am not taking much time off as the package here is rubbish, so cant afford to take too much time on Satutory payments. Luckily for me, I am a 10 min drive from work, work at a desk and can take breaks when and how often I wish. I am only have 3 months off, and this includes holidays. OH works shifts so there are not many days that bubs will be minded by others and even then have managed to arrange for my sister and mum to have him when we are both at work.

    Congrats to Fernliebee.
