    Ummm.... c'mon brain get working!

Congrats Fernlie... let us know name when decided:D

Iron/transfusions etc etc... everyone seems to be really negative about transfusions/IV treatment. If it wasn't for both I wouldn't be here. My levels went down to practically zilch on a few occasions.

I was offered internals because of naughty baby but even they admitted they still may not see bubs properly so I refused. Don't like the way they put REFUSED in my notes though!!

kitkat - I'll PM you my pic if you really want to see it;)

I'm supposed to be going out for a meal tonight with a group of people. I'm feeling a little bit better so I'm hoping I'm going to feel up to it:) My wee turned very naughty last night:( I had a bath to ease my pains and it took about 10 mins to work out how to get back out!:rotfl:

Don't soak them.. stuff them in a bucket and at the end of the day or every 2 days bung in washer!

I haven't soaked them since I caught DD3 drinking the water from the nappy bucket!

Thanks PP, I have nooo idea on the subject!!! I was suprised when getting my free one from the council at how many layers they have! What ones would you recommend to use?? I just wana price some up and then me and OH can discuss! Lovely antenatal tutor gave me a print out of 'guide to baby poos' with lovely photos...

Cant believe ur DD drank water from the bucket!!! Ewwww!!! Gross child!!!

I am only so anti-iron because it makes me so incredibly ill.. I ended up in hospital because I had a bowel obstruction and subsequent pain due to the tablets.. I'd only had 2!!

Transfusions.. it is written in my notes in at least 3 places that I have refused them.. which is completely untrue.. I was never offered only TOLD on one occasion I didn't want one.. I did acually say i would rather a transfusion than the tablets.. it can't have such a terrible reaction.. though knowing me I would lol.

I also think many times they are bandied about far too much and they do not give your body chance to sort itself in many cases just rely on filling you full of toxins and goodness knows what..

I too have ended up in hospital because of iron tablets.

Transfusions have been amazing for me in the past... from not being able to stand to being able to walk again. Although transfusions haven't always been just for the iron. I had 1 bad reaction to one (where sadly they had to call the emergency doc on call... who was bloody gorgeous!!:D The nurses did warn me;)) but I always requested not to stay in overnight for them due to being single parent at the time so they were done quicker than normal.

kitkat... I'll send you pic in a mo:)

Also, hope sir monster is ok, she hasn't been on much - I know her home internet is down, maybe hasn't been at work. I'll drop her a text and see.

I'm here!!! Can only catch up at work and have been actually busy at work :p so no time to surf the internet. Slight downtime today and have discovered a wetherspoons next door that has free wifi so will be going on there if home internet doesn't work (not getting someone to look at it until next Thursday!).

Only exciting thing that happened to me was doc rand to say had an urine infection so now on antibiotics to see if these work then have to another test and may have to take some more!!

Re taking time off I finish on the 8 August and have 4 weeks annual leave (as not really taken much this year and have 41 days to take :j:j) Then my mat leave will start on the 6 September. I know I spent ages thinking will I be bored etc, but also worried about surviving the commute especially in the heat. Will have to meet up for coffee Rach when you finish (especially on my due date!!).

Thanks Pigpen and Smartie :) - PP- Can you recommend best place to get totsbots?? Just want to price them up 1st!

Re: Maternity Leave; I am finishing 2 weeks prior to my due date (but my EDD might be brought forward a week) that is the longest I can handle my work, I feel uncomfortable right now and I still have another month! If my OH is still out of work, I will be going back to work within 2-3 months as I will have to. Dont fancy this though. Otherwise, I am taking 5-6 months off hopefully!

I got most of mine from ebay.. they are usually about £5 each

www.usednappies.co.uk often have new ones available

(I don't use twinkle on the web.. while they have a superb selection I found their delivery times took the pee somewhat)

www.plushpants.co.uk and www.snazzypants.co.uk are also both good.. have decent customer service

www.nappylady.co.uk is also good.. loads of info.. most of which is not necessarily important but has a good selection.

Just me maybe but I avoid anything that says it contains hemp as they end up like concrete pants!
