Gah, looks like I'm here for the long haul. Stuck at 7-10 minutes between contractions and the hospital are unwilling or unable to do anything about the fact that I've had no sleep and struggling for 48 hours. Time to try and get some dozing done in between I think.0

Had a busy day here today, was out with my mum all day. Little monster being really active still!
I had a mw nightmare too! (tmi alert) Been really suffering with thrush, went to mw for check and she wasn't very helpful and said there was no way the GP would sign a prescription without seeing me and as it wasn't urgent I had to go and see them  I rang the doctors and was told if it was non-urgent I could have an appointment in two weeks! Anyway I got upset and the receptionist asked what the issue was. I explained, and she said it wasn't non-urgent and put me on the nurses call back list. She rang back and was very nice, I explained to her and she seemed quite cross that the midwife had just left me suffering and not bothered to help at all, and said 'I'll get the doctor to sign a prescription for you as you should be treated asap, come get it in an hour' If I hadn't got tearful on the phone I could have been left to get worse for two weeks :wall: :wall:
I am beginning to see how you feel the way you do about them Pigpen!Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

good question - I have absolutely no idea...I expect until I get to 4-5 minutes (been at 10 minutes for almost 24 hours now), my waters go or the baby gets less active through being fed up too. The MW wasn't exactly explicit - paracetamol and baths are apparently the only advice we have and if those don't work - tough!0 -
bounce on ball?? swivel hips? try make baby annoyed enough to pop your waters?MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000

morning all x
esio hope things are speeding up for you or they soon x
delain my docs are the same, they normally ask if its an emergency (I can't help but think that if it was I'd be going to the place called accident and emergency!), but instead of saying no I say it is not routine, if this isn't enough I go into great detail about what the problem actually is, they normally stop me half way and say can you come in at 10:30 or similar. It is stressful to have to badger them for an appointment and they used to be so good, always seen in 2-3 days longest now its 2-3 weeks if you are lucky. I hope you get the script and get sorted quickly.0 -
Oh yeah was also going to ask, the 22 week scan were yours just abdominal scans?
The leaflet for it says they do an abdominal scan and a vaginal one to check the cervix. They didn't used to do this when I had my others so I wondered if it was a new thing or if anyone else has had it?0 -
Hi Merfe
I had my 20wk scan a few weeks ago and it was the same procedure as the 12wk really, other than a few more meaurements etc to check for abnormalities. I'm now 23wks and not had a lady garden one yet  x0 -
Morning all
Have had lots of fidgeting this morning all ready, fingers crossed little miss is making her last preparation to move out being that her eviction date is tomorrow! Am chilling before I start cleaning - have my neat freak mother coming to visit today so need to get tidying although flat isn't too bad its just little bits like dishes, cleaning sinks, making beds etc.
Although have been informed by boyfriend that he wants to go motorcross riding on the weekend so if I could kindly work round his schedule he would much appreciate it.
Ben is super excited - keeps saying how he will share his toys, let her play with them, teach her how to play wrestling on the XBOX - think he thinks she is going to come out a fully grown 5 year old and not a screaming newborn - might sit down with some of his baby pictures later and show him how little (ha at 9lb 7ozs!) he was so he understands.
Also don't want him to feel left out when he comes to the hospital so have gotten him a special card from Clintons that is for new siblings and it says 'I'm a big brother' on it with a badge which I've signed from Holly and I wanted to get him a big brother present too so might pick him up some wrestling cards and maybe one or two little football figures that he collects - will only cost a couple of quid for them but want him to not feel left out - although I highly doubt he will be the problem - OHs other son (hes 9 and lives with his mum) is very spoilt and likes to be the centre of attention - so think he will be more the issue! Did anyone else have a problem in that respect?? with other kids getting jealous?
So can I have some labour vibes please to help get her moving
ESIO - hope your contractions get closer chick, that the baths and paracetamol start working and that the hospital are more helpful. xTime to find me again0 -
morning all
bedroom was like an oven again last night, but on the plus side I slept 12ish-6 with only a quick clock check at 4am!
esio - contractions speed up vibes for you and sammy hope she is getting ready as you say!
working from home today (yay!) I need to nip to the sorting office (i say nip but means a bus each way!) and I want to get some washing and cleaning done as well...we seem to be descending into a bit of mess which I can't cope with! DH promised at the weekend to take the box from the buggy over to the recycling but hasn't, hopefully friend who is popping over for lunch will do it as it's only across the road.
I think I am v lucky with my Doctors, can have to wait for an appt but they do seem to prioritise when preg - one of the GPs was an obstetrician before being a GP which helps I think. I've always found them great, and the same with my midwife so far.Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0
