Fuzz, I know the feeling. I suspect my pre lunch 'snack' was probably bigger than some people's lunches. Don't know what kind of beast I'm incubating, but I think it's a biggie.
Pigpen, your're experiences with the hospital are definately dreadful. I can't believe they'd want Tiddles to die - what an awful, horrible thing to say. You definately don't need me to tell you to stick to your guns regarding where Squeak is born, cos I know you will!

Thats great your looking at bits for the baby Fuzz! Baby shopping is highly addictive!!
Well OH is officially a doley boyhe just came to see me in work, they are back dating his claim to 1st June so when he gets paid in 2 weeks he should get 4-5 weeks worth
he said he didn't understand what the woman said about the Surestart but she gave him an application so hopefully it means we can get it
(really really want that car seat!) She also said we can claim housing benefit and council tax benefit when I am on ML, do feel a bit of a sponge but I spose the system is here to help when people need help.

Kitkat, it's not sponging - you work, and until recently, so did your OH. You both might be young, but you've certainly paid into the system, and no doubt you will both continue to do so in future. It's good that they're backdating it for him as well. Glad he's swallowed his pride - which can't be an easy thing to do - and got it sorted.

slm the same thing happened to me, i was about 20 weeks and had felt bubs moving for around 3 weeks then all of a sudden i had no movement for 4 days, i ended up in a right tizzy worrying so i foned hospital at like 1 in the morning and they let me go in and they done a scan, everything was ok, i suppose i just have a lazy baby!!
they'll prob listen in for the heartbeat but if that still doesnt settle you id ask them to do a quick scan to put your mind at ease. midwife told me the position of the placenta can also affect how much you feel babys movements so its prob nothing to worry about.0 -
kitkat i think you only qualify for surestart mat grant if its income based jsa he's receiving. if not you can apply after baby is born but then it depends on the level of tax credits you are entitled to.0

Yes baby shopping is fun:D But I'm trying to control myself:o I'm buying 1 small essential per week and 1 non-essential every 2 weeks so I don't go mad.....it's taken me so long to get over my shopping obsession that I'm too scared to shop properly iyswim:o:) all with the help of voucher OBVIOUSLY:cool::D1.11.09 - debt = £45k:eek:

Kitkat.. I'd say I don't mind paying for spongers either.. but neither of us are working either..
.
OH was made redundant last March, moved here in September.. and there is absolutely NOTHING available that would mean we would be better off working.. Since KH left has been the ONLY time we have EVER been on benefits, in the 20 years since leaving school.. and given we only get £77 a week I don't think that is unreasonable anyway! (the rest we are eligible for is taken off as I get carers allowance for DS2) This is the first time OH has ever been out of work either in the 12 years since leaving school.. and several years before that when he did paper rounds/shop work etc..
Once the divorce is sorted (end of September all going well) we are hoping OH can find something suitable.. I refuse to pay to get rid of the KH when he was f**king around! Plus I need OH here when the baby arrives, at least for a few weeks.
Ask for the healthy start vouchers too!!! I think it is about £3+ a week while pg and until baby is 4 but it is £6+ in the first year.. it all helps!.. I am still waiting for them to sort mine!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Thanks Bexta, hopefully this will only be for a short period of time
Dream: I will look into the JSA thing, I don't know what he is claiming tbh! Not sure what tax credits I will be on either! Low probably!
Glad you don't mind paying for spongers Fuzz!! Lol. I have never been a shopaholic, but I have turned into one since becomming pregnant! I budgetted for each month and bought either a large item or lots of small ones once I had been paid as it didn't seem such an expense, although with the help of friends, buying second hand, this forum and voucher codes I have saved a small fortune!!0 -
I don't know how you manage it Pigpen with 'nearly' 9 kids! I bet you work 24/7 anyway!! A job just wouldn't be worth the hassle, I know I work with someone with 4 kids and he is always having to pop out/ take days off/ bring kids into work and he is lucky the manager lets him. I bet it would be almost impossible to do this is any other job!!
Being made redundant is the worst thing, this is what happened to OH and I am sure he has never recovered from it properly, he was so down when it happened. I did tell him to ask about the healthy start vouchers but he forgot, he said he would ask next time he goes0
