Congrats CAFC :j:j:j
Labour Vibes to those in need.
Can someone help please??? Pretty Please
I have just opened a letter from the hospital following my unexpected trip there on Wednesday it seems that the swab test they did has shown up that I have Group B Streptococcus.:eek::eek:
Some advice please ladies
Don't panic!!!
Your m/w should go through this with you - they do a leaflet about it. About 30% of people have this and it's not a big deal. It just means there's a teeny risk to baby when your waters break. Apparently, it's not very common for baby to get it, but when it does it can be serious. I think the stats are about 1/2000 die, so it's a rarity.
I tested positive for it as well, and my m/w just said they'll put me on IV anti biotics when my waters go, and this will hopefully go through the placenta and protect bellymonkey to stop it picking the bacteria up. It really isn't anything to panic about, it's just precautionary.Bellymonkey due 25/09/10 :j0 -
from memory with my other 2 little ones i was never given a weight at any of my scans, but maybe that was because i hadnt askedMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Fuzz, you never know, there's all kinds of 'specialised' markets
I definately need to examine my options too. Technically I'm a librarian, but haven't yet worked in that field, although I was appplying for positions before we decided to go for bubs. Really don't wanna go back to shop work, but I suspect that libraries will suffer with various budget cuts and whatnot going on. We'd probably be worse off if I went back to my old job anyway after childcare as my hours were cut to 30 a week when the company did a big cull last year.

Not told weight of bubs at scan either, just measured at docs/mw re how big my bump is!!
Docs saga for me continues as on call doc (very nice!) rang me back and said don't take those drugs, but will have to go again tomorrow morning with another sample. Did any other preggers ladies feel like they should move into the docs, I seem to be going every week at the mo!Thomas born 28/08/2010 weighing 5lbs and 4ounces, small but perfectly formed :j:j Now weighs 19lbs and 5 ounces

It's midnight, technically the 22nd of June, my due date! So baby, where are you?!
In all honesty though, he can stay put for a day or two, I've got more cooking to do for the freezer tomorrow!
Main point in popping in was to let folk know that Lansinoh lanolin cream is on offer at Boots just now at £7.49 instead of £9.99. Got mine earlier on, the stuff is great, but sososo expensive so any money off is great in my book
Hope everyone is well and congrats to CAFC.
*goes away to compulsively check hospital bag*
the lansinoh cream will be £4.99 from tommorow in sainsburys if that helps anyone0 -

Tbh it is probably the kind of field I'd like to work in too, I like helping people I do:D
I work as a night nanny I am a qualified childrens nurse and get paid well for it due to the experience I have but its not regular work at all in my area if I lived in London would be booked every night.
Its a job some people do through experience alone of working with babies then progressing onto night nannying but takes someone giving them a chance really.
also as smartie has said plenty of care work jobs for nights around,
also supermarkets have night staff now for 24hr opening for tills but also all have shelf stackers at night - some of them pay more than qualified nurses get!!0 -
Holland and Barrett have buy one get one half price at the mo if anyone need to get RLT etc:)
I will def be doing the RLT thing but still unsure about the calcium and other stuff?? I know this subject is brought up every now and then on here but I really don't know what I'll take/not take.
I have the list of stuff and when to take it saved on file so I'm not asking what to take... but I want to know if you ARE or ARE GOING TO take calcium etc or NOT?
Sorry. Just ignore me if you wish/get bored of same old discussion:o I just hate making decisions!!:rotfl:
And leaking boobs are just sooooo fun:cool::rotfl:BLOWINGBUBBLES:kisses2: SMARTIE120 -
Hello all
sainsburys have wipes and baby tolieteries inc mum to be stuff half price as of tommorow til 29th june online and instore can look online now to see whats included, may have to pop there on way to work tommorow if can get backside in gear early enough.
Got man coming this eve to measure up for our fitted wardrobes chose a local man who was recommended rather than a big company had quotes from£2-£8k which was shocking, guy we are using was one of cheapest but also nicest. One was sooooo rude and we felt he would be evil if there was a problem.0 -
