I am still hoping I can get the surestart this time round as I need the money to buy a car seat, even if they dont wana give me the full £500, £100 would be great :D lol.

Ooooh Fuzz.... news!! >> My OH IS SIGNING ON TOMORROW!!! wooooooooo :T (I actually hate the idea of him being a 'doley' as people at my work keep putting it :p but at least he can pay the minimum payments on his loan/ cards/ etc. Phew!

    Afternoon all

Congrats Samdona - welcome to team blue!!

    Emsy ((hugs)) to you.

Had a complete faff of a morning at the docs/mw. Saw the mw at 11, tested my tiny bit of wee I managed and said I could have an infection so see the docs. OK so they had an appointment 20 mins later for a locum, but had to do another sample. So 10 mins before my appt went to loo, came out doc and receptionist calling my name - doc having a go at me as where I was (well had to another sample - doh!). Anyway tested it do have a urine infection so gave me a prescription for something went to pharmacist and they told me they don't do that in UK only in France. Had to go back to docs, get something else - Trimethoprim 200mg. Reading leaflet says do not take when pregnant so waiting for on call doc to ring me to check is safe. Anyone else been prescribed this I am 27.5 weeks now.

depends on experience i think?!?! Could be worth asking mw if she knows of any students who are looking to childbirth experience before they actually qualify???

Was just mentioned on parent thread, they're better than bbc website:) [STRIKE]IIRC its going to be axed too but again not until April 2011 summat like that anyway:o[/STRIKE] Wrong! Its being kept but inly for the 1st child..again courtesy of parent thread:)

Baby KK number 2 will have leftovers from number 1 so will be cheaper anyway and you won't need the grants;):)

The HIPG is gone from Jan 2011 and the sure start is for 1st bubs only, from budget docs . .

1.105 From April 2011 the Government will restrict eligibility to the Sure Start Maternity Grant to the first child only and abolish the Health in Pregnancy Grant from January 2011.

Oh I could marry you lot :D

Just phoned the head of the Hardship Fund for Doula UK, gave her a brief outline, and I qualify for complete funding for a birth and post natal doula :T:T:T:T:T

All being sorted today with forms etc, I can start choosing my doula, so will be fully supported during and after the birth. Cannot believe it!

Also discussed water birth ( my preferred choice, MW said yes, consultant said no as previous c/sec) and she gave me name of lead MW for area who is responsible for water births in the Kent area, said it was no problem, talk to her and she will get it sorted, and the doula can organise it all as well
:j:j:j:j AMAZING:j:j:j:j now fingers crossed the waterbirth gets sorted:D You sound much happier already;):)

Look at the criteria LINKY....you're definitely eligible for it:D Just don't let them tell you it's being cut coz it isn't!! The jobcentre staff are sneaky beggars:mad: You gonna go with him for moral support? or would that be classed as interfering?:p:)
ETA: have you looked to see if you're eligible for tax credits since he's been out of work?!?!

Anyone know which are the best type of night jobs to have??? All I can think of is Hotel Night Receptionist or factory work:o

Fuzz - the only night time job I can think of is....;););)

My friend does care work and does 2 nights a week and earns just as much as she would doing fulltime day work.

Thanks Fuzz :) I will try go with him but it depends what time we come out of MW appt as I have got to go back to work after (few people off sick so short staffed... again!) plus he might feel like I am interferring.. as if I would do such a thing *hides the list of things I have written he HAS to ask about while he is there* :o

We're not eligible for tax credits as we're both 24 :D but should be when the baby arrives! Hurry up baby! (OH tells me off when I say this!!)
