Wahay for Smarties BIG SEXY KNICKERS!!!
;);)
Can I please ask how much were they?? I desperately need to get some!
Dream: Glad Im not the only one who found it abit forceful, it was abit like BREAST IS BEST and very in your face!! I think they should be promoting formula too as I know that is just as good as BF these days! (it may even be better considering peoples health problems!)
I don't think the hosp can force you at all, its your choice. I am the same, I'll try, if no good I am not too bothered. Just means I can drink sooner!might be worth checking if your hosp supply the milk tho, as I don't think they all do

When I had DS they looked at me shocked when I said I was going to breastfeed, it went really well for the first 2 days, then the 3rd night he was feeding on nothing for nearly an hour then crying every half hour so about 2am I went down to the nurses station and asked for a bottle of milk and they just gave it to me. I bottle fed after that and only one midwife who was in the next day mentioned it when she saw the empty bottle, she said I was doing well - I know that but there was no more milk I just was scared of him losing weight like his sister did.
So the point is they didn't really hassle me at all for changing my mind0 -
Kitkat, sounds like the one. I thought it might be a bit 'political' in that respect. I'm all for BFing, but not in the militant sense, cos I don't actually know whether I can do it or not. I figure so long as you're feeding the kid, it's all good!

MERFE i hope i can just ask for a bottle then if it doesnt work out, may have to ask midwife if my hospital provides them or i have to bring my own then.
might not even be in hospital that long anyway. apparently if me and baby are ok the hosiptal are sending people home 6 hours after birth:eek: and hosiptal midwife told me alot of people arent even being put on a ward they are going straight for delivery suite home.
thats all well and good for people who perhaps are having their 2nd child and dont want a long stay as they have done it before and know what to expect etc. but for someone like me who is having her first baby i just dont think its long enough. i havent a clue about babies and to be honest i would not be comfortable leaving the hospital that soon. im getting more and more frightened about it!! i know my house is probably a better environment for the baby, less risk of MRSA or whatever but six hours jus seems SO quick. does anyone know what their hospital policy on this is?0 -

Smartie I got some of the shortie ones 5 pairs for £2.50 the other week normally a sz10-12 in underwear and brought 12-14 and ok but bit tight so maybe worth checking them first.
Saw midwife today am measuring 29 and half weeks - am 28+5 so not far out baby is now in breech position which from my point of view with gynae probs and wanting a c-section is a good thing!! She couldnt get blood had one go but as I am at hospital next week to see consultant I can get it done there. Urine had leucocytes did last time and is prob due to discharge. Have had headache and really heavy eyes since last wed so told her but as BP was fine then nothing to worry about think its coz I am tired.
My 2 rolls of mamas papas millie boris border arrived today bargain of £6 off ebay inc postage and normally cost £11 each!! Awaiting brand new fleecy blanket as well got for £5 normally £12 new so doing well with ebay, I set my limit and then dont go online til its finished otherwise would be tempted to over bid!
Off work now til monday hooray.
got to make dinner in a bit so making bacon and leek quiche with parika wedges and will get husband to dig up a lettuce when he gets home.0 -

I think its the one I have my heart set on, my mum loves silvercross as a brand and I just think it looks sturdy, neutral and looks like a pram which is what I want! I am abit worried about it being too bulky as I am only 5"2 and struggled just lifting car seats! Thanks Sir M about the voucher, I have to admit I already have one.. Cafc kindly gave me it
but very kind of you to offer
!
No worries KitKat, speaking of CAFC do we think she is getting mummy cuddles now??
Oooh that reminds me to grab some knickers in primark tomorrow when I go into town, they had some sets reduced in mothercare had them in my hand to buy and then put them to one side as wanted to try some white trousers on - then forgot to buy them (stupid preg brain!!).
Re staying in hospital as I want to have bubs in birth centre (which is in the hospital) they get us home after 6 hours which to be honest is scary but I'd rather be in my own bed with DH as I am such a fussy sleeper there is no way I would sleep in hospital. Although you can pay for a private room at my hospital which if there are complications I may do, but lets hope I get home.Thomas born 28/08/2010 weighing 5lbs and 4ounces, small but perfectly formed :j:j Now weighs 19lbs and 5 ounces
