    hello all

I had a good day and managed to sit down to deliver the bulk of the training :D Have been in bed since about 9 just surfing the net which is nice and relaxing too. So many things I wanted to comment on but half have disappeared out of my head!

bigbird- hugs to you. My sil had a raised risk picked up at the 20 week scan and went through the amnio etc. everything came back fine in the end and so it was a false alarm. I'm not sure if she'd make the same decision next time.

pigpen - if you will have so many children you can expect to be giant... ;) seriously, sorry you're suffering, sounds terribly painful

Clothes- I have the bundle of stuff I got from ebay (20 things for £5 including postage!) which is mainly vests/short sleeved suits with a couple of long sleeved proper suits. Also have a lovely set with a cardy that Mil bought us. Am going to get another set of newborn long sleeved sleepsuits at least and then some 0-3 months stuff. Dh was over 9lb but I was only diddy as born a bit early by section. I do want to have a decent amount of stuff that is ready washed as anything people buy will need washing first so won't be immediately wearable.

I like Theodore but can't help thinking of the chipmunks now lol

    DD is Kezia :)

Someone my mum knows called her daughter "She" that has got to be one of the most awful things to end up with!! Not much better than it really

Lol mermaid, Kezia is lovely, very unusual! I love names like that, that arent too obscure but are still different to the rest :D

Pigpen; yes Theodore is a chipmunks name! thats what I always think of (i used to love watching those damn chipmunks!) But maybe Theo would be ok :)

Freebie; Thats great news finding out you are having a boy, shame ur sonographer was so miserable, sounds like u cud do her job better spotting the sex before her!

sadly wouldn't do any good in hard nosed london! The baby on board badges the tube issue are meant to help but rarely do. Yesterday I was on a busyish train and an older lady was also standing and started to say very loudly how appalling it was that no one offered me a seat...but they all just looked away. :(

I know what you mean re baby on board badges I had a good experience where a lady noticed and gave up a seat :) but once I was on a busy train feeling really carp/hot etc and I'm sure people saw but just ignored. I'm lucky that I have a priority seat card which in theory the train comp have decided I need a seat in the 'special seats' but I get all flustered having to ask as just in case they say no , also as with coat on can't tell I'm preggers but think will have my badge more obvious when I ask. I think you have to be proactive and ask as people will just ignore you otherwise and tbh if you ask (loudly!!) and they say no they look foolish!

Glad your training went well Rach, can be very tiring when pregnant.

Forgot to ask earlier has anyone had a red/sore/dry rash on back of their hand? Thought it was the cold a few weeks back but after nice weather bit confused . .

I just get poor jokes about belly walking into room first. Ooh, I didn't see you there, just your belly. Har hardy har.
I don't know where I end though. So keep bumping into things (ow), or getting in people's way. Reminds me of my dog, when she grew big she had no idea where she ended and kept getting stuck in places, bless.
    :wall:
  • I'm the same Agutka, im a danger to this belly now!:(
Managed to burn it on the grill pan earlier cos I didn't realise how far out it was... caught it on the wing mirror of the car the other day when I was sure I could fit between wall and car...KEEP on catching it on door handles/bannisters....burnt it on the iron numerous times.Only 9 days to go tho hopefully and the poor baby will be free from the thrill ride that is supposed to be its safe haven :p

I do remember after having the others tho how weird it was that I could actually reach to wash up without having my arms outstretched and my belly squished into the sink!!! After 9 months some silly things amuse and EVERYTHING suddenly feels so strange after all the adapting:rotfl:

    Congrats on team Blue FBQ:j

So why was I huge with DS1 then?

It is actually a complete myth that you get bigger with each one.. I was probably biggest with number 6 closely followed by number 2.. and I was smallest with number 4 and 5.. it all depends on how you carry them and the amount of fluid in there!

I would - I work for local gov too and haven't had a risk assessment either! My boss did say to me in passing the other day 'i need to talk to you about your maternity leave'...

When I was pregnant with my DD my risk assessment was soooo funny. I wasn't allowed into a computer room unaided as there were too many wires everywhere. Oh and I wasn't allowed to work right up until I dropped because If my waters broke they could spray out and leak all over the computer and I could have an electric shock....:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

It really was a stupid website company. I'm suprised they lasted as long as they did. Oh, and we were on the first floor of a building. They put garden trellacing(?sp) up so that I wouldn't fall out of the big bay windows if they were open.... Oh and I was to move upstairs with the sales department as when I got bigger it would be harder for me to get upstairs to go to loo. *rollseyes*

lol nene that's ridiculous. Seems to be one extreme or another!

I am hanging around at home this morning a bit as i have my course tonight and its too long a day if I get in before 10. I've got about 20 mins to eat some toast, clean my teeth, make a sandwich and go...so 10 more mins on here then :D

pigpen - true, i know it doesn't make any difference to overall size...i just thought maybe it pops earlier with later ones if muscles are weaker?

Nene, that sounds like an extreme risk assessment. Mine consisted of my boss telling me I'm not allowed to lifts totes of books anymore (which I wasn't going to do anyway). I have to admit I cringe when I see my colleagues struggling with 20kg and more boxes of books, cos I used to be nice and strong and be able to do it fairly easily.

Sir Monster, I think I would be too embarassed to ask people to move. I'm going to practise saying 'Excuse me!' in a snooty voice for when bubs is - failing that, like Xmas said, I have a serious pedestrian squisher of a pram to run people over with :D
