  • Popping in to say hi, congrats to new mummys and scans and all new arrivals on the list, cant believe december is on the list, realised i am 6 months pregnant and really not prepared at all ha. I guess thats what happens when you have a toddler already you dont think about it as much and the time flies, when i was 6 months with DS i had nearly everything! not too fussed though means lots of fun shopping trips ahead.
Noticed a lot of you are decorating recently, i need to crack on with this, need to paint all upstairs and woodwork in whole house, also gettin Oli a bed soon so doing his room up. Bubs is going in with is till we move to a e bed place hopefully within the year. been doing lots of sorting out clothes e.c.t and have a pile of decent boys stuff between 6 and 18 months, about 16 items mix of tesco/asda/next/pumpkin/mamas&papas/debenhams. i gave up on ebay ages ago and not on fairy exchange but if anyone is interested i would happily send them for the price of postage just pm if interested!
Also cant wait for my scan at 32 weeks, its to see if low placenta has moved and i hope to god it has im having nightmares abou c-sections really dont want!

For those who havent yet used their Huggies voucher for 50 % off Newborn kit ( voucher found inside Emmas Diary. Head down to Asda now. As Asda have them down to £3 were £5. But instead off just taking 50% off £3. It takes £2.50 off ( using the old price) So you just pay 50p !!!!

The Newborn kit is sold in a red and yellow box comes with size 1 nappies and travel size wipes, also samples and coupons.

( Am preggy 21 weeks with a wee girl)

This was free with my Emma's diary mag!!

Tammu - congrats. Please will you edit your post and add the bottom bit back on - we're missing the births etc and the linkys
    Mummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz
  • Well what a day I've had, went to Tesco did a massive shop, went to Asda sorted stuff from baby event, came home unloaded the car ( no mean feet I can tell you ) then on my way to pick up DS from school someone in a big van reversed into me, picked up DS, called in to midwife who insisted I went to hospital, got scan everything ok but I feel like the van ran me over not the car - not sure if it was the shopping or the smash. Had a nice warm bath and I'm going to bed shortly. Don't look forward to sorting out car etc ( I'm already off with stress, I could really do without the hassle) & to top it off the washing machine is dying !!!!
Busy mum of 3, so if my posts don't make sense or ask a silly question be patient:rotfl:

Sir Monster, all I can say is tighter tops emphasise it more , cos I look pudgy when I wear baggy stuff. The belly doesn't seem to matter to that particularly vicious breed of older lady who think it's ok to barge into you when you're shopping though!

Congratulations on being blue Freebie, sucks about carpy sonographer though.

Pigpen, if it's any consolation, my bum and hips go numb from having to sleep on my side.

    Evening all,

Budget - Only catching up now so dont know if anyone hs mentioned it about Downs but the way I would look at it is..you'd have to have 170 babies for 1 of them somewhere in that line up to be born with Downs. It isnt that bad a figure is it? Its a worry for all of us no matter what age. Im declining the bloods as last year i was 1:1400 which is excellant for my age. I'm not putting myself, OH, family and the baby through all that worry.

Congratulations and welcome to all new pregnant ladies - sorry forgot names as I have the headache from h8ll today.

Re bump sizes Im !!!!!!! hugeeeee at 16 weeks I think I look about 6 months pregnant already!

MLSL Aww poor you it sounds like you've had a really bad day,Hope your feeling ok

I second the tight tops for emphasising a small bump. Also invest in one that says baby on board or something similar yes i know alot of people dont like tops with stuff on them but it may stop the stupid questions and annoyed looks when you ask for a seat until your a bit bigger and its obvious :-)

Bexta as for the old ladies just remember in a few months you will have a lovely pushchair to use as an ankle cracker and you can get your own back hehe. I had a right old bag on the bus the other day one woman moved from the pushchair area to let me in but she refused to budge so i positioned the pushchair so bubs could kick her the whole journey and when she gave me a dirty look i just smiled sweetly ;-)

    Hi ladies-Hope everybody is ok

Went to see midwife today who found sugar in my urine sample so will be seeing me again in 2 weeks to keep an eye on things, also gave me a prescription for iron tablets as iron levels are low from blood tests.Baby is lying transverse again which I knew anyway because I could feel him or her wriggling away at 3am this morning.
I'm loving the bump pics-my bump is huge people think i'm due in 2 or 3 weeks and are shocked when I say c section at the end of june.

I went to spend my hipg today on the bag I wanted and popped into pumpkin patch(manchester) they have some gorgeous bits in .I'm definately going to send sis in to buy babys coloured clothing from there once he or she arrives-everything seemed to look so much better in the shop although I'm happy with what I've got online too.(still waiting for some blankets to be delivered though)

    happy vibes to everybody.
    Love can tame the wildest

Thanks ladies - Im hoping todays better.

Sweaty - I went through all that last year with a redundancy looming over me. I even asked for voluntary redundancy in the end! Your more protected when your pregnant...and what risk assessment ?? Lol . That goes out of the window too , you wouldnt think I work for local gov would you !
I would - I work for local gov too and haven't had a risk assessment either! My boss did say to me in passing the other day 'i need to talk to you about your maternity leave'....

Speaking of baby names. My friends think I am silly for researching names. How can it be a waste of time googling names to find meanings, associations, nicknames etc which will be with him for life? What am I supposed to do, just give him the first name I see in Heat? Silly friends more like. Grrr.
Ignore them - why would you not look into names?!

I am sick of women on the train with giant over the shoulder bags bashing me!!

sadly wouldn't do any good in hard nosed london! The baby on board badges the tube issue are meant to help but rarely do. Yesterday I was on a busyish train and an older lady was also standing and started to say very loudly how appalling it was that no one offered me a seat...but they all just looked away. :(
