Kitkat, I'm also wondering about clothes, but I know you're a bargain hunter so I'd definately recommend car boots for clothes. I've picked up some for 20p-50p, so although they're really cute (sleepsuits with monkeys on!) it means I won't be too gutted if bubs turns out to be a chunk and doesn't fit them, cos I won't have run to Baby Dior or something crazy (not that I would) and spent £400.
Thanks Bexta, I will defo go round the car boots more, I dont mind overstocking on clothes, if I am hardly paying anything for them, can always sell them on! I love all the cute sleepsuits with designs! Also got one with a monkey on that OH really likes, I always nickname OH my monkey, lol, this came about as we started dating when we were both 16 and he was the hairiest 16yr old i had ever met :rotfl: hehe.
Thanks CAFC, I never thought of charity shops! I take enough stuff there, maybe I should actually look around :rotfl:
Bexta; wot a lovely neat bump! I will upload pics of mine soon, feel like I've gone to look well chunky in the last 2 weeks!
Agutka; I think you are very sensible choosing 20 names, I want a good choice of names ready for bubs arrival, I tell my OH this as he is opposite and wants ONE boys name and ONE girls! I said 'what if the baby comes out and it doesn suit' and he just laughed saying all babies look the same, no they do not!!!! I think looking into meanings is lovely!
1more; im curious where in the welsh valleys roughly you are from?? Me being a fellow wales inhabitant!0 -
Hi! Just posted my EDD, hope I did it right. I'm 10+4 weeks pregnant today. I have one DD aged 4 and lost one DS at 22 weeks of pregnancy prior to that. Needless to say, I am really scared the same thing is going to happen. Can't wait for my scan with the consultant next Tuesday so we can check if everything is OK. Already had one dating scan and baby was fine with a really strong heartbeat, but then again, there was no problem with baby number 1's heart. Fingers crossed.
Good news is that I'm not feeling anywhere near as sick as I did the first two times, just really tired. I'm trying to drag my bum off the sofa now so I can take DD into town to buy a birthday present for her school friend's party on Saturday. I'm working the rest of this week so got to go today. Home Bargains is my first stop, (already looked on Argos website for bargains!)
Anyway, good luck to everyone on here! xx0 -
Quick question;the EPO tablets are they the same ones as you swallow to what you put up ya foof? I dont wanna say I got a wizard sleeve foof but surely it would just fall out??Debt Free Date:10/09/2007 :j :money:0

I love welsh names (bit off topic LOL)
I like Iyestyn (i think thats how its spelt) but DH pointed out that I'm only part welsh, so baby will be even less % welsh, and then lastly he just doesnt like the name LOL
Kitkat I think I can safely say probs say 60-70% of the clothes we've got are from charity shops.
I might have missed it, but do you know what you're having yet (aside from a baby obv)?Wealth is not measured by currency0 -

But I don't want 20 names. I'm with your OH on this one :silenced:, don't hit me... I'm not good with faces and all newborns look the same to me. I remember worrying if I would recognise Joseph if they asked me to pick out my own baby in the early days :rotfl:. They grow into names anyway don't they? Impossible. We had the same trouble picking J's middle name, which we eventually settled on in the car on the way to the registry office. And I don't like it.

hey all, just been trying to catch up a bit! congrats to jolene and redstar.
I'm with kitkat - dd was Ayesha from 2nd scan throughout pg, then one of the 1st things I said when I had her was "she's not an Ayesha" lol so I'm not planning any names this time - she ended up with a name that was never on our list and I don't think I even came across it until afterwards. Plus I LOVE her name so much I'm struggling to find another girl's name I like anywhere near as much0 -

A raised risk just means you have a very small risk of having a baby with downs, not sure of the exact figures but for many the chances of having a baby with downs is 0.5%, therefore a 99.5% chance of it being born without.
One thing worth considering is that apparently if you have suffered a bleed then you are much more likely to get a raised risk reading (incorrectly for want of a better word) and for baby to not be born with downs. Have you had the nuchal fold scan? I thought this was more accurate than the bloods.
Thanks for this. They did say that the bleed could have skewed the test, but when I asked if I could repeat the test they said there's no point if I still wouldn't want an amnio. To be honest, we'd decided not to have the quad for exactly that reason (not very accurate and we wouldn't abort anyway)though after having the scare last week I was hoping it would give me some reassurance, but wanted to be forewarned of any further potential problems. I wish I hadn't had it done now
I suppose the other way to look at it is 1/170 is only 0.6% so very low risk actually.
OH doesn't worry about anything and just says "let's stay positive" but I now feel like I have utterly failed this child - as illogical as that is!Bellymonkey due 25/09/10 :j0 -

CAFC; I have no confirmed reports of what I am having! I have a feeling its a boy, but people have said as I have craved sweets, been terribly sick, looked rough, and didnt develop any bump until the last 2 weeks that its a sign of a girl. OH reckons girl. But I have bought 2 girls outfits and 1 boys, as I thought they were so cute, and that wot I didnt use would keep for future babies/ or if my sis has any
Agutka; I jus think wot if u choose one name, and then decide that it jus isnt right when the baby is born!! Im not sure, im new to all this!!! I want 2-3 names, for each sex. We did hav Theodore for a boy (OH loves this name but Im not sure!) I just feel like the kid would get teased at school, so maybe Theo, but is that too short?!?! Otherwise, theres a few girls names we like, but they all seem to begin with C or K and OH's surname begins with K so it might not go! Maybe we'll just call it 'baby'
Mermaid; I am curious what ur DDs name is?!0 -
OMG Hazzie, that did make me laugh :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
It's not crazy to look up meanings and such like for names, although I wouldn't take them too literally cos some are pretty crazy. I agree with the others though about a baby not 'looking' like the name you may have planned for them originally. My mum was going to be a 'Beverley' until she popped out and the MW said to my grandma 'Does she look like a bl**dy filmstar?', so mum's a Catherine instead (which is nicer IMO)
Thanks for the bump compliments too! Yup Budget, I am indeed 28+1, I didn't really start getting a proper belly until about 19 weeks, but I think it's going to get huge!
