Right my little scouting ladies, It looks like our walkie talkie has deccided to give up the ghost. (which is fair enough as it was second hand and like 4 years old) We're looking for a new one. OH doesn't want a video one as he said he'd spend all the time just watching it. :rotfl:
So can you scouting ladies help me find any good ones? Don't really want to spend more than £40. (If Possible)What's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..0 -
Hello all
I hope everyone is well today!
I need some support (again!)
After finding out about being rhesus negative last week and being rushed to hospital with bleeding, today I've found out that my risk of Down's etc is 1/170. For my age group it is 1/470 so I have quite an increased risk. We have decided to decline the amnio because as far as we're concerned this is already our little baby and we wouldn't take any action now if we found out it had a chromosome disorder. However, I'm really upset about it all especially as I can't do anything to help my baby be well and healthy. Has anyone had a high risk result before?Bellymonkey due 25/09/10 :j0 -

1more, I am also not happy with pumpkin! They emailed me this morning saying its due to the volcano, i am abit annoyed as they could have dispatched it before all this! I ordered over 2 weeks ago!!! Ridiculous! And some of the items I ordered were out of stock so thats annoyed me even more!!! Grrrr!! Sorry to keep going on about this but I am feeling let down, and i want my lovely baby items
I won some ebay auctions friday, and the items came last nite, super fast! They were both lovely; a pooh and eyeore snowsuit and a pooh bear pink fluffy jacket and trousers (and I think im having a boy, lol):rotfl:
How many clothes do you lot recommend on getting? For newborn sizes, 0-3, 3-6, etc?? I so far have about 4 newborn sleepsuits, and afew other sizes, is it worth getting some more newborn in? Or not risk it incase bubs is big??0 -
Hi Kitkat, im the same as you, really not sure what to do about clothes. everyone i speak to says you get so many as presents no point buying any! think i would feel a bit weird turning up at hospital with no clothes for the baby though- look like a bad mother!! was thinking of getting some sleepsuits and some vest things and seeing what i get as presents!
just had midwife app for 22 weeks, she listened to heartbeat and said it was nice and strong, not too worry about not feeling any real movement yet as it will happen over next couple of weeks, think baby is just lazy like its mum.
she did say that i might be getting carpal tunnel (sp?) as i wake up with no feeling in my hands, its not painful theyre just numb. really hope not. just to keep an eye open for swelling and take rings off asap if i notice any in my hands.:j0 -
budget, not sure what to do about your downs results, have you maybe thought about looking at support sites on internet? i know its not definite but it might help settle your mind?:j0

Morning hope youre all well?? Just come back from MW appointment (34+2) and got info re birth plans etc. Apparently bubs is possibly breach, he/she is lying sidewards so might be having a scan at my 36wk appointment. I also weighed myself while I was there just out of curiosity and according to their scales Ive only put on 4kgs (about 8 or 9lbs) - that doesnt seem much to me although I am all at the front with bubs and its solid most of the time???
This week were hoping to start on moving our bedroom front back to the front of the house and putting bubs wardrobe and cotbed up in the back bedroom. I can also start on washing bubs clothes/blankets/sheets now Ill have somewhere to put them awayOpinions are like ar*eholes - everybody has one!!!!0 -
I picked up my free Emmas Diary Mum-to-Be pack - bloody rubbish!!!!
Got the Sainsburys one as well was much betterOpinions are like ar*eholes - everybody has one!!!!0 -
Morning All!
SalesShopper - I had the same with two midwifes, although at appts a week apart. One told me he was breech, then the second re-checked a week later and said he was head down. And I pointed out this hard round area is where she said his head was at the previous week, and I got a "oh yeah I can see what she means, maybe he is then. Theres definitely a large hard mass there"
Spinning babies.com is recommended by a lot of people on here for turning babies. I did a quick google search and found about 15 different suggestions, including massaging bump round in a circle, with hands overlapping from where their head lies to our pelvis. Apparently they follow your hands.
Then there was a torch suggestion, headstands in swimming pool (yeah right) swimming in general, and a far few others.
a lot of people told me not to worry though, they've still got plenty of time and space to shuffle round a few more times.
Got bits and pieces to do in the house, general housework. Need to measure the space underneath the cot as well, so we can get some storage boxes under there for sheets etc.
Whats everyone else up to today?Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
Kitkat, I'm also wondering about clothes, but I know you're a bargain hunter so I'd definately recommend car boots for clothes. I've picked up some for 20p-50p, so although they're really cute (sleepsuits with monkeys on!) it means I won't be too gutted if bubs turns out to be a chunk and doesn't fit them, cos I won't have run to Baby Dior or something crazy (not that I would) and spent £400.
