Hi all,
Well what a cr8p first day back at work. No desk for me and no chair??? - brill ! Boy did I feel insignificant ! At least people were glad to see me.
So now I have back ache and stomach ache because when I was sat down I was all hunched over on a uncomfy chair. OH told me to leave and come straight home , I dont know why I didnt.
It wasnt too bad leaving the baby as she was with her daddy, I knew she was in good hands but I was sooo glad to see her.
A least I know that I dont want to work in an office again after this baby comes.Tomorrow Im working out the soonest I can go off with all my holidays and mat leave!
Hope everyones had a better day than me

Sonnee i used the always night time ones last time and they worked fine for me i cant stand the mahoosive ones either. I only took one pack with me to the hospital which i found to be plenty but obviously had spares at home and most hospitals sell them now so its no major problem if you run out before OH can get some more to you :-)
Well its been a hell of a day kids went back to school this morning then had to come home and sort the bedroom out and dismantled the old bed then went to pick the kids up came back cooked tea put the new bed up then had to pop next door for a residents meeting, came back cleaned kitchen, sorted living room and have finally sat down phewwww. Tomorrow isnt looking any better either but at least i seem to have a bit of energy back at last its taken a while but i think ive finally started blooming :-D:jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0 -
suzywuzy - poor you. we have to hotdesk in our office so I've been known to have no desk...or no desk anywhere near my stuff/colleagues!
I am in bed now, as soon as the washer stops spinning (it's so loud - i think it needs levelling!) I am going to sleep as I need to leave at 7.45 in the morning.Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
Suzy - sorry to hear your first day back didn't go too well
How did your colleagues take your news?

Rach - We're the only team that doesnt hotdesk, mainly because I need lots of folders and stuff (mainly cr8p) on my desk and have a fixed extension phone line . There wasnt anywhere to sit at all except for in the eating area. I really dont wanna go back tomorrow. Thanks for listening - it does us good to moan over little things
Xmas - Thats good about your energy levels. I wish my energy would kick in , everyone said how well I looked but it was just because I was smoothered in St Tropez - it hides a mulitude of sins !
Gill - Surprisingly they were thrilled, which made me happy. I took my daughter in for the last 10 mins , she was a star and rose to the occasion waving and clapping which perked everyone up at the end of a long day.
I second what Pigpen said about the towels, I went through so many last year especially with using the EPO (inserted ) at night as they were very messy. I bought about 7 packs and needed more. The boots maternity towels come highly recommended. I need them big as I bleed alot when just given birth.0 -
I always use the boots pads too... good advert aren't we? lol I think I have 6 or 7 packs bought alreadyLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0

Suzy - sorry it was a bad day. Don't they have to make sure you have a chair etc as part of duty of care/risk assessment with you being pregnant?
I am planning on telling my boss I'm pregnant tomorrow. Have no idea how he'll react, but am worried because the company are making redundancies and this may put me top of the list. Also worried as a girl I knew who worked here a few years ago went off on mat leave, but on returning they said they'd be sending her all over the country with work - when she said she couldn't travel that much as she had a young child to look after, they made her redundant... Am probably worrying about nothing, but really need this job!0 -

Sweaty - I went through all that last year with a redundancy looming over me. I even asked for voluntary redundancy in the end! Your more protected when your pregnant...and what risk assessment ?? Lol . That goes out of the window too , you wouldnt think I work for local gov would you !
Have a nice day all

I was going to ask re risk assessment too, but employers are under a legal obligation to carry out a risk assessment for new and expectant mothers. Maybe you should bring this up with your line manager? As if you hurt yourself then you could potentially ask for compensation as they haven't gone down the current procedures.

After sucess with bump band yesterday, had not so good morning as undid buttons on trousers covered with band but trousers slipping down! When tried to move bump band down, bubs starts to kick me (don't think they like being squished!)
Someone mentioned early probs sleeping in second trimester seems to be hitting me, is odd my small bump seems very heavy when go to sleep, can't get comfy and keep waking up before my alarm
