    redmel thanks that helps alot.

Kataratarina I think that one is very similar to the one I was looking at, the facing out doesn't bother me but then its my third baby. However I have a friend who's little one still has to be facing the parents at nearly a year old because unfortunately was born with a hearing problem so needs visual contact more.
  • Hi,

I am almoat 24 weeks pregnant. I was hoping one of you ladies could answer a quick question.

I have been offered a job and part of the process includes a health questionnaire. I've been open and honest about he pregnancy and that I have had a few complications with the pregnancy so far. My possible employer wants to send a health report questionnaire to my doctors, does anyone know what information this might include? Would it include informtion about when I found out about the pregnancy as well as possible problems arising from the complications?

It seems like a really odd question but I am really worried, I've never come across this before and don't want the complications to go against me.

Thanks guys! I am just to stuck on what to. Ive had advice a week or so ago from here but am still none the wiser. I was in Mothercare and Babies R us but nothing was jumping out at me. My friend said she spent a fortune on her 1st but on her 2nd she bought a £35 carseat from Argos and swears by it. I just dont know what to do, i do realise that it is still early days but i just want to know whats the best thing to do. She also said she didnt use a moses basket-just used the carry cot part of the pram and after speaking with my mum she said i wasnt in a moses basket for too long as i was hitting my hands off the side so she just moved me to the cot!!!

I can feel myself starting to freak out by all this information overload...

The thing is every baby is different as well as what works for one person doesn't with another so you can only do what you think is right. I tried moses basket with both of mine, my daughter would not sleep in it but my son did for about 3-4 months. I used the pram for my daughter instead as it is wider cos she did the hand banging thing too. I bought so much with my first that I wouldnt get again but other people might make alot of use out those things its individual. The best thing you can do is try to enjoy it and not worry too much, there isn't alot you actually need is more just extras to make life easy so choose the things you think will make your life easier.

With car seats its really hard to know if its any good till your in an accident and luckily I've never had one with the kids so haven't had to find out if they were worth the money. I do love DS maxi cosi toby though, £150 so not cheap but the only car seat that fitted in the car properly. That's stage 2 and DS will grow out of it just in time for the baby to have it so we will have got our moneys worth.

With Alex we have a maxi cosi streety with streety carry cot. This came with a car seat.

My analysis of this 3.5 months in- car seat is rubbish (v difficult to get Alex in and out without unstrapping it all- we have now been given a mamas and papas primo viaggio which is fab), the chassis isn't the sturdiest, and the carry cot is invaluable. The carrycot doubled as moses basket for 3 months and was great.

Just try a few and go with what you like. :)

Grrrr! I just spent ages replying to this and explorer has eaten my post!
Anyway, what I said was that pregnancy is treated as a temp issue and so if you have complications this should go against you no worse than, say, a broken leg. These questionnaires are usually to check for chronic and ongoing problems eg back issues that are likely to mean recurrent health issues. If they already know you're pg and still want you, you should be fine. You could always check with ACAS who have a free phone number and will advise.
Can i be added to the list please... my EDD is 22nd Dec. im only 12+4 and have spent the entire weekend in bed feelin carp then i read all you'se ready to go, rushing about and doing things i feel so lazy!!

    :(

Hurrah congratulations on your baby! Most people feel better after the start of the 2nd trimester but it doesn't just magically stop. I never fully recovered my energy and until 16 weeks still felt awful most of the time but I was lucky and wasn't oo sick I was just tired and as I work from home I could work around afternoon naps.
All you can do (and the best thing you can do for your baby) is to keep eating little and often to keep your blood sugar levels up, and rest when you feel tired if you can. Sleep in, and get OH to bring you cups of tea in bed. ;)

Redmel: ur lucky, I am defo going to consider our next move being to an area where there are actually decent shops... And jobs! My local town has no baby shops, a tesco has recently opened but the baby range is very basic, anything on offer is always sold out even if it's 1st day of offer and just opening! My next town has toys r us, mothercare and a small pram shop I'm yet to find. Mothercare is tiny, toys r us has the tiniest babies r us section, you blink and miss it. Oh how I love to live in the countryside!

    .

I hear ya! I used to live in rural N Wales and shopping was a nightmare! As was midnight curry deliveries (impossible!).
I'm just outside Manchester now and would like to go a bit more rural at some point but I love being close to actual shops. I still buy loads online though :rotfl:

Thanks budget! I do lots of shopping online as I love bargain hunting, but it's a pain sometimes when you see instore offers advertised on telly as you can guarente the stores don't exist round here or are too small to stock it! I would love a takeaway delivery service, if we don't eat take away in the car when collecting it we have to heat it up when getting home and it's not the same. Our nearest KFC is an hour away! that was my biggest craving during early pregnancy. However, we live in a really pretty tiny village that is so quiet and relaxing :) no hussle and bussle and you can go days without seeing anyone!

Well I fell asleep this avo on the sofa, woke up feeling rough as! Got OH to come for a walk with me and I feel lots better now :)
