Suzy: I'm with you on that one, barely any of the shops here have prams to test out and I think it's so important but I do not wish to buy one blindly! It's like a car: you wouldn't just order one without a test drive 1st! I found toys r us and mothercare had a couple on display but were very limited and in mothercare the assistants didn't seem too happy when I was trying to push a pram just to see what it was like!
Pigpen: I have no motivation either, got my feet up and guna read/ browse the net this avo! Now I've got half my hosp bag packed!
Collected my freegle item this avo, it's a graco swing. Not bad, the motor works and it's a bit of an older model, looks like it's more for a toddler than a baby. Guna see if my mum wants it at her place. The lady also gave me a rocking horse which is excellent condition. Not bad for free.0 -
Congratulations on the arrival of the new babies and  at 60 hours. Labour vobes to the bold one and stay put for PP.
I've just bought breast pads as I have started to panic about leakage and now suddenly feel very pregnant!
We went to check on the progress of the loft conversion and it's all looking good. Luckily my mum and her little group of friends have offered to come and help me clean when we get back into the house so that's good - I'm taking all the help I can get! We'll have loads of painting to do basically from top to bottom but we should hopefully be able to make a start in about 4 weeks which will give us 10 and a bit weeks until due date.Bellymonkey due 25/09/10 :j0 -
I must be quite lucky really as there are quite a few shops to try out prams/pushchairs within a 15-20min drive. I have Mamas and papas on the doorstep, then a mothercare and a toys r us a bit further out then about 20min drive there are 2 (that I can think of) fantastic independant baby stores that are full of pushchairs:) That doesn't include the shop that is in our local marketplace which has a decent variety too....between all of them I tried out every style of pushchair going:)
Need to decide what to cook for dinner today. I seem to have no chicken, or any decent meat...all I have is mince or stewing steak!! No money to go out for a sunday dinner, and we only went out for one last sunday anyway!

afternoon everyone....
absolutely nothing happening here.... i knew i'd be a long hauler!!!!
Madwife came round to do my bp check, was still high but on par with previous so noone cares..... got follow up appt with consultant on wednesday where i'll get a stretch and sweep to try and kick start. she seems to think they wont let me go the full 14 days over because of bp risks, so my point was so why not do anything now? but it was the horrible wench so i was glad to just get her out of my house....
now im just BORED!!!!!! this is worst that symptom spotting for our bfp in the first place.....
Hazzie - how you doing hun????Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
Redmel: ur lucky, I am defo going to consider our next move being to an area where there are actually decent shops... And jobs! My local town has no baby shops, a tesco has recently opened but the baby range is very basic, anything on offer is always sold out even if it's 1st day of offer and just opening! My next town has toys r us, mothercare and a small pram shop I'm yet to find. Mothercare is tiny, toys r us has the tiniest babies r us section, you blink and miss it. Oh how I love to live in the countryside!
Had to wear my maternity jeans today as I couldn't do up my other jeans! these are the blooming marvelous £3 ones and very comfy indeedOH actually tidied up I just cannot believe it, I daren't say a word though!
Sorry your still here Cafc *hugs* I hate the idea of going overdue and I bet it'll happen. Hopefully they'll induce you sooner.0 -

hope things start happening for you soon Cafc - your midwife sounds not too good!
I have had a horrible day, had a really dodgy tummy all day and only just now feeling a little better. I literally was passed out on the sofa most of the time, dropping in and out of sleep.... think I had a temperature at one point too. But couldn't do much about it as OH was at work and I was here with two toddlers... managed to put movies on to keep them entertained. But i still feel carpHaven't managed to eat anything either, barely ate half a slice of toast first thing.... hope this doesn't last.
Hope everyone else has a good day and labour vibes to those needing them and congratulations to all the new mummies!

I like this pushchair http://www.mothercare.com/Petite-Star-Zia-Stroller-Purple/dp/B0039IEMVI/sr=1-8/qid=1276442086/ref=sr_1_8/279-9047027-0200058?_encoding=UTF8&m=A2LBKNDJ2KZUGQ&n=42805041&mcb=core
tell me what you think and has anyone used it or seen it in real life
Things I like are it looks like it'll fold really small which is good for our tiny car and to store in the cupboard under the stairs. It seems a reasonable price. Says its suitable from birth (although I'll probably use a sling for the first few months, or the pram I have).
I don't need a pushchair but if I can get a new one for a reasonable price I thought this one might be it. I do have a pram already but its really old, was 2nd hand mamas and papas one I bought when pregnant with DD over 5 years ago but I will probably use it for the school run for the first couple of months. I have a car seat still from DS and am not keen on travel systems anyway. I prefer 2 handle ones - I like to hang my handbag on it. Hopefully I will get the HIPG and that more than covers the cost with a bit left over so though it would be a nice treat.0 -
oh donna hope its just a 24 hour thing and you feel better soon, sounds awful x
The only thing that worries me with that pushchair is it looks a little cheap ie a bit plastic, esp the wheels.0
