CONGRATULATIONS Michelle, and welcome to the world baby Ayana - Lovely unusual name, how do you pronounce it (similar to Anya)??

KK - not sure if you need to with your hospital but baby's bottles and ready made formula? My plan is to breastfeed, but if it doesnt happen, the ward dont provide you with anything to formula feed.... we've got two bottles and 4 ready made cartons which gives him 24 hours worth of feed, and dh can go out and get more if needed....

munchies/drinks.... magazine/books. are you going to labour in one of your nighties? ive got a scabby t-shirt and a vest top for birth pool, plus pyjamas and a nightie in case im in for a few nights.....also got a water spray bottle and tens machine.... slippers in case you go wandering the halls :)

Pigpen: I have got the case in the living room.. and thats as far as I have got!!! I am still trying to work out what I have ready to go in; maternity pads, breast pads, toothbrush, tooth paste (these were a multibuy so I have 'spares' that will stay in the case!), moist loo wipes

For baby's bag; few sleepsuits, few baby grows, a jacket, blanket, nappies, cotton wool, baby wipes.

What I am missing; 2 x nighties, my going home outfit, dressing gown, shampoo/ cond, showergel, ipod, charger, camera, batteries

Am I missing anything else vital?!?

underwear.. I assume you will be wearing some :p
    dressing gown?
    Pippers

Make-up? Hair brush? shower gel/flannel etc.. I have my toiletries bag and make up bag made up all the time anyway as I take it when we trundle off to OH's parents in Manchester so I just need to take it from one bag and put it in the other.

I want a puzzle book too.. I always love sitting doing those.. I shall add it to my shopping list.. If I am likely to be in a few days.. depending on the condition of the baby I am having my laptop brought and OH's dongle lol

I just remembered I bought a jacket in newborn size I think so I'll put it in just in case..

Oh... sheets and blankets for the baby? Like the milk you might need to check what your hospital provides I know the one here doesn't do bedding but does milk.

Some of you were mentioned you wanted some nighties, m and s had some nice summer ones in the sale, plus they had maternity bras and some cute baby stuff.

Oooh good one! I could put a couple of bottles in, and I think I will buy the formula closer to the time (so I can return it if I dont use it!) is the ready made stuff in the cartons? Sorry I have never thought to look at the diff types!

I will leave myself a reminder to pack munchies/ drinks and maybe a book closer to the time. I was just going to buy 2 cheap nighties for labour, all of my tshirts seem abit short I would prefer them longer really. I have also got pjs with buttons that will go in the case. I have got a top I could wear if I am allowed the birth pool (hope so!) i have a spray bottle somewhere, I've got plenty of slippers lol and the tens machine I need to borrow off my sis as I havent got one.

Does OH not have some larger tshirts you could 'borrow'?

I didn't mean just knickers.. I assume you would want a bra too!.. :p

Underwear and toiletries and slap plus camera/charger etc are the only things I need to add to mine but I can't do those until D-Day as i need them.

I have it all down to a small wheeled case and a holdall now.. plus a bag in the car seat with our 'coming out' clothes in.

Are you likely to need change for the drinks/chocolate machines too?

I am taking a bottle of juice so should be sorted.

Lol I did remember bras! I have got 2 nursing ones that I bought in a bigger size.. and I am wearing one atm lol. So maybe I will pop them in my hospital bag when washed lol. Toiletries; I will look for smaller bottles, cant put in mascara camera, charger, ipod until the day as I too need them! I always keep change in the car for parking tickets but I will put a bit of change in the case also, as parking at the hosp is £2 per day. Just found the bag lists that were posted on this forum previously, I will start packing my bag and then attach a list of items to be added to the bag so I know!!! I feel such a disorganised mess!!!

I will ask OH if he has any tshirts I can 'borrow' he is very slim and wears medium size so it should be abit baggy on me (presuming I dont go whale size then I would have to borrow off my dad lol)

My OH is a skinny thing too.. but tall so I have been stealing his tshirts.

I picked up some nighties from the mothercare sale rail the other week.. £5 each.. and ebayable if i don't want them afterwards.. they are fairly hideous.. see spotty whale posts lol.

OH got a little panicky when I mentioned I was packing hospital bags earlier lol.. it all suddenly gets more real and imminent.. he really needs another 10 years lol

none of the clothing I have given birth in has ever stained.. it washes straight out normally.
