Ok I have started filling my case; there is much more baby stuff than my own stuff atm as theres so many things I need to add, I think I will defo need a bigger bag/ case as the one my mum has given me is more of an overnight bag and the pack of maternity towels seem to fill the case on their own  I do have a bigger suitcase with wheels so I might take that instead, plus it would be easier for OH to wheel it in if its heavy.
It was lovely packing all the baby bitsall the cute little sleepsuits/ baby grows, tiny hats, scatch mitts and the adorable booties my sis bought me last week
Pigpen; are bibs needed at all??0 -
I haven't packed any bibs but just packed a couple of muslin cloths that i already had
Have to check my bag later re the Asda vests I bought to see if they are on the recall list.... hope not though.

Congrats Michelle:j:D
How many maternity towels are you taking??
How many sleepsuits??
*panic panic* and I've got a while left:o:rotfl:
Oh and my back is ever so painful:( Any tips on how to get comfortable whilst sitting on the sofa?? I might sit on my gym ball for a while but that starts to hurt after a while.BLOWINGBUBBLES:kisses2: SMARTIE120 -
I'm just taking one pack of maternity pads, I will send OH or my mum out for more if needed. Think I am taking about 5 sleepsuits and 5 babygrows, (as thats wot is in the pack!) not sure whether it will be hot or cold in the hospital so thought I would take both! Don't panic Smartie!!! You can always start packing bits now like I am and just keep adding to it, I have got 7/8 weeks but I wana be ready!!
I make sure I sit on the sofa upright, with cushions supporting my back and neck, I also have a beanbag I use as a foot stall and I find having my feet on that eases my back somehow.. it also ensures I dont sit 'twisted' and stops my feet going puffy0 -
My hospital has changed it's policy on letting mums go after having a baby. It used to be, any excuse to keep you in a bit longer and they would. You also had to wait for a paediatric doctor to do the first baby checks before they would discharge you. Then they would want someone to drive the car to the front doors and they would check you have a car seat before letting you take the baby!! Now you can literally walk in, give birth and walk out again....no need for checks before leaving, nothing.
The children's physio dept is in the maternity building and while we were there yesterday with ds2 I did see a new mum and her oh just walking down the corridor, baby in a blanket in her arms and he had hold of a small rucksack. The baby looked very fresh, so was probably only born that morning, and they were just trundling off out with it:)
Given that information, I really couldn't care less if I do change my mind about going in to give birth instead of having the HB...although I am getting set up for one anyway One benefit to this, as the grumpy midwife told me yesterday, is that I can now call out a midwife to check on my progress whenever I want to;) No worries about bothering to go to hospital only to be sent home as nowhere near established:D Also means I can use entenox from an early stage, if I wish, and then still transfer into hospital if I choose to before giving birth:D
My birth bag is very sparse compared to you lot...I am going on the assumption of a HB but making sure I do have some bits in it just in case of transfer to hospital!! I am also going on the premise that even if I do transfer it will be very late on in the process and so won't be there long, IF I do need to stay for any reason dh could always nip home anyway and fetch things for me:)Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not.0 -

Ah muslins I forgot about those! I am taking extra sleepsuits as I reckon hosp will try keep me in as I always have low oxygen levels plus the hospital I'm being referred to is a bit of a treck so can't just send OH home for 5 mins to pick something up. I know he will have to travel to see me and baby but I would rather have what I need packed0

xxBeautiful baby boy arrived 20th June 2010...Harry..weighing 7lb 4oz on fathers day :j0 -
I need to think about hospital bag - best get a suitable bag I suppose!! waiting to see consultant at end of june for decision on c-section due to ym gyane problems but at the moment baby is lying transverse anyway using my stomach as a hammock which is why my bump is low down and small - so despite gynae problems unless he moves his backside up a c-section is inevitable!!
I am 28+2 at the moment. I did treat my self to a twin pack of summer strappy nighties in marks spencer today they were £15 brought size larger than normal wear and then also got my self pack 5 white/black knickers they were £4 and I had a 20% off coupon from credit card mailing so wasnt too bad and good quality so will wash up well.0
