Michelle, it cold be pretty inhumane - they used to swaddle babies for centuries. It enabled the carer to hang the baby off a hook whilst they got on with chores if need be!

Tinkwings, lucky you, sounds very nice. Bet you can't wait for it to arrive now!

Rach, there's definately a difference between be sick with exhaustion and needing to take it easy and 'sick' as in not being able to get out of bed. I'd say there wasn't anything wrong with just chilling and getting a haircut while you're off.

Got our carseat this afternoon. It's a Britax 0-4 years (can't remember it's actual name), but it certainly seems nice and comfy for bubs.

    Hello

had a few hours in town today, brought couple vest tops and a cami top from primark just a larger size as they are quite long anyway and at £4 for the 3 tops was cheaper than one maternity one elsewhere.

Had some quotes yesterday for some fitted wardrobes in our bedroom and dressing room scary £2,500-£4,500!!!!!!! they are sloping roofs and fairly large but we are shocked, awaiting an independant guy to pop a written quote back through door this weekend he seemed lovely and lives near by and was recommended and would rather support local tradesmen.

going to make some cherry and strawberry scones were husband gets home.

bexta - exactly, and I will probably get my hair cut this week! Think mainly dh is jealous that I have a week off! I did just remind him that his mum actually gave up work when she hit 6 months preg (I'm not quite there yet but still!). My mum worked til almost term on a casualty ward but that's a different story!!

that's probably the first class car seat, which we're going to get.

Am getting quite excited about going to look at the bedding and nursery stuff tomorrow. I wasn't going to get it second hand but think I can mix and match with new and I do love the design (having looked online) - mothercare fun at the zoo.

I feel like I need to save a few things to get later but I can't help myself getting stuff now! Am 23+0 today.

and as if my magic I appear LOL

    well drama averted (sort of)
saw a consultant on thursday who seemed to be the only person with any clue about anything. His words were "they are treating the blood results as opposed to you".... because one of my levels was high and rising, but yet like he said there was nothing physically wrong with me, spots in my vision had cleared up, general pregnancy aches..... but on the flip side it was good that they were checking on me so much...

However meant a bit of a wasted trip for my mum but god love her for coming all the way up here..... we did all think i'd end up going into labour as she was driving home LOL

So in short, baby still tucked up inside, had a sweep on the tuesday but that didnt set anything off. Got some tightenings which are getting "tighter" so I think body is gearing up. Baby is currently over 7lbs (from ultrasound scan on wednesday)..... and is all limbs! Head is pretty far down in pelvis as well according to my notes.

Got another consultant appt next wednesday just to follow up, but may make it to my due date after all..... and can remain online to chat to you all, although I think a catch up is beyond me now LOL

Glad things are looking up CAFC! You sound a lot happier and more positive so hopefully won't be long and little L will be here! Exciting times.

Thankfully my nesting instinct has kicked in today and I have been super busy. My house really needed a clean, though still not quite finished as I have been deep cleaning and tearing out contents of cupboards and the like so it is a work in progress atm. Managed to finally wash all the babies clothes, blankets, bedding and nappies and get them dry on the line, bleach my kitchen and DH has given it a lick of paint so it looks much better now. Also managed to clear my bedroom a bit, get together loads of stuff to take to the car boot tomorrow, and organise my dressing table (now that is a miracle!!!!) In between all that I have been in the garden with DD playing in the paddling pool and sand pit. I am now officially tired out, but got lot's more to do tomorrow so I best be on a roll! :D

Labour vibes to all that need them.

Glad to have you and lanky L back CAFC!

Rach, you're probably right about OH being a bit jealous of your time off. If blokes could have babies there'd be sooooo much more drama involved - and probably better maternity pay!

I think it is a First Class car seat, can't be bothered turning the box in the hallway around - does look nice though if it's one you're interested in. No point in us getting an isofix model, cos the car won't take it, and this one goes on with the seatbelt.
