    Hello all! :)

Lots of talk about prams which reminds me that the maclaren arrived after some brilliant bargain hunting by smartie12- thanks again! :) It's all set up and hubby loves it although he wouldnt have a clue how to do anything except push it at the mo! Same with car seat, been nagging like anything to practise putting the seat in before labour and its yet to happen!

Well after 2 days of leaking, didnt have a clue whether it was waters so rang antenatal. Told me to put a pad on and ring back in a few hours- didnt though, I just waited a few hours and told hubby to take me in as ive barely slept for two days- constantly getting up and checking. :o Otherwise she would have been keeping me on hold until bubs made an appearance!

Midwife said monitor picked up some "mild contractions..." mild?!!!!!:eek: Erm... yikes! I could def feel those suckers! :rotfl:only once every half hour or so.

Then had internal to check waters, which she doesnt think have gone... :( But liquid due to hormonal changes. Where does it come from then?! :)

The best bit though... she asked me if I would like a sweep whilst she was down there and of course husband looked at me like she was going to get a broom out whilst I said OF COURSE! :D

Very achey now, lots of cramps lower down, stronger than ive had before so on paracetamol. Please send me lots of labour vibes ladies! :)

LABOUR VIBES TO THOSE WHO NEED THEM!

Those are some very nice prams ladies. Mine is built like a tank and I fully intend to use it to run over every single pedestrian that gets in my way cos I'm sick of being the one that gets barged into and made to walk in the road :D

Pigpen, do you reckon you need a 'proper' nappy bucket or could you use any strong plastic bin type thing with a lid? Just thinking I'd have to get it online, but they sell lidded bins at Wilkos and places like that.

Beer brewing buckets are fabulous.. and cheap.. lids stay on well.. wouldn't want beasties in our beer after all.

They need a secure snug fitting lid whatever you decide.. and if you have other children do NOT soak them.. I found DD3 with the lid off one time... and a little cup from her teaset in her grotty mitt!!!

Feeling some pressure tonight ladies! Bump keeps going solid and making some weird shapes lol.
I really struggled walking the (usually) 5 minute walk to town and back this aft, I had to keep stopping and leaning on DH! Back soon :)

Pigpen, lol at grotty babies! Nah, no other kids, just 2 stupid mogs, so would definately need a tight fitting lid otherwise cats would wind up getting covered in baby cack from falling in the bucket.

Michelle - sending you the BIGGEST VIBES!!!! Hope the main event isn't too far away now.

Looks like we'll be getting some new MSE babies soon  How exciting!
My bellymonkey is being naughty again, kept me awake all night after my 6 hours of driving and a 3 hour meeting, and then slept all the way through my morning meeting, and all the way through the 6 hour drive home. Now I'm home and getting ready to go get my early night it's woken up again :rotfl: I keep reminding myself I'm just happy that it's getting stronger :D;)

I keep hearing you talking about a show. Is this the same of losing the mucus plug? Sorry this is prob a super daft question but I've never done this before

huge labour vibes Michelle and any of you other overdue ladies too! Need more bubba pics on here, I'm getting so desperate to meet my little one and I still have 2 weeks until due date! Argh!!

re buggies- I paid (well my dad paid but.....) £139.99 for a maclaren techno (it was 2 yrs ago now though) and it still looks brand new. It was brilliant would highly recommend however things I didn't like about it were- harness, seemed way OTT and the thick straps got in the way. From when DD was about 8 months we took the top straps off as they were such a pain, also really fiddly to adjust. The only other things were not much storage, so fine when they are bigger but when they are newborn their weight doesn't counterbalance a bag hanging over the handles so you have to carry any change bag/ hand bag etc, etc. I know you can buy buggy weights to solve this problem though.

Space wise it fits perfectly in my astra with the handles at full height, and we fitted it in my dads tiny suzuki hire car (though it was blocking the back window. They are light, really easy to push, much easier to steer than any other umbrella fold (I used to baby sit for lot's of different babies so have tried out a fair amount!)

This time round I have bought a silver cross sprung chassis lie flat pram (not the gorgeous coach built, just a retro 80's one!) off ebay for £60 as with a baby, a 2 yr old and all the luggage they require the maclaren is just not up to the job storage wise, I need a free hand, and to be able to let go off the handles to grab toddler without the buggy tipping backwards!! :D The way I thought about it was it is such a short time that you need a lie flat pram for (DD sat up unaided at 4 months so wanted to be upright from then) that if you bought second hand on ebay or the like, you could re-list it and prob get a similar amount for it anyway so you're not out of pocket.

I also have the britax first class car seat! I think it is brilliant, DD has only last week gone forward facing and she will be 2 next week. I have bought DD the britax eclipse and bubs will go in the first class so it's def getting it's moneys worth of use!

re slings- with DD I had a wrap sling (no brand just a long piece of fabric from fabric land) and I loved it! It was so versatile. I lent it to a 'friend' and unfortunately I have had no response to my requests for it's return. I have been passed on a ring sling that looks good but will have to see how comfy it is to wear, otherwise I will just get another wrap one from somewhere. I carried DD a lot when she was tiny as it was just so much easier, the only problem is that you have no buggy to dump all your shopping on and you have to carry it yourself! ha ha!

Phew! Mega catch up, the quiet lunchtime meant we all had loooads to say this evening! :D
