I dont think any of you are close to dudley but if you are there is a new stall on the market selling loads of baby stuff from john lewis, asda and disney i have managed to pick up 3 carrier bags full of vests, baby grows and blankets from birth to 6-9 months for £20 and its all brand new stuff in packaging the woman even gave me 3 white towels free. I couldnt believe how much i have saved as some of the packets had price tags of £7-£14 pounds on them and they are selling them for £2 :-D:jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0

Xmas how bargainous is that?!:T:T bet you're dead chuffed:) Gutted I'm nowhere near Dudley lol
out of sheer boredeom and curiosity(and I'm a nosy b!tch:p) how much are you looking to pay/have paid for your buggies/travel systems etc and how are you likely to use them??
I'm still looking and we're hoping to get what we need for £190(HIP Grant), for us it needs to be lightweight, fit in my corsa, have a car seat(DHs requirement?!), easy to push, adjustable handles, have 4 wheels and last for the next bubs:) These are just essentials there are other stuff I'd like but I'm trying to be realistic:)1.11.09 - debt = £45k:eek:

This time i have had the Phil & teds and so far so good although that was £400 for everything we needed :-):jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0

nipped to shop and bumped into friend who gave me lift home..perfect as it was boiling! she said I look better already but sleepy!
Miss piggy - we do have a babybjorn as i got an active for £7 which is almost brand new. I am hoping also to get a fabric sling too, have a friend who is really into them so must pump her for advice. I have heard good things about mai tei or however you spell it? any advice welcome!
fuzz - we are hoping to keep it under £200 with footmuff but that's the maclaren and will have to be when on offer. I expect we'll then get a britax first class car seat that will last right through til it's about 4, they're about £100. We are lucky as my parents have offered to get the pushchair and dh's parents offered to get something else so I am going to say how about the carseat.Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
House !!!!!! lol!
Xmas: really wish I lived closer to Dudley, sounds like you got some great bargains there!
Fuzz: moneywise for a buggy i have my £190 grant and a £110 saved besides. I'm hoping to get a light weight, easy to push, parent facing, pram style buggy that lasts for future babies. Oh and added car seat would be good, and has to fit in my astra and OHs 197! I'm not asking much. I do quite like silver cross but you have to buy car seat seperate which pushes up the cost. got this horrible fear I'll spend £300 and end up buying a cheap pushchair when baby can sit up!0 -
Fuzz, we're paying £555  for a Jane Slalom R with Matrix car seat (one of these - but from a small local shop)
Not cheap but meets the following requirements:
Car seat can lie completely flat - good when Flump is tiny and later handy for 4-5 hour trip to see my folks.
Car seat pops on and off the buggy chassis with one hand.
Buggy seat can be forward- or parent-facing.
Capable of going off-road. We like walking on Dartmoor and even if I just want to pop up to the allotment that's up a steep dirt track, so we need something sturdy that isn't going to fall apart after a year.
Adjustable handle that's high enough for me at 6' tall.
Should fit in the back of my Mini with the wheels off. Though that's not a huge issue as mostly we'll use DH's car (Golf) for transporting Flump around, but it would be handy for it to fit in either car.
Oh and it has a front disc brake, adjustable rear suspension and quick release wheels (Formula 1 stylee) to keep DH interested! :rotfl:
I'd like to get a sling too, for if I'm just popping out to the local shops, so will have to look into those. Anyone got any recommendations for them? Had a look at the site Ms Piggy recommended earlier but am a bit baffled by all the different types! Might try giving the lady a call. You can do anything, make anything, dream anything. Ive had hauck pushchairs for all three of mine and never had a problem with any of them. I spent out on my first and bought a chicco one which turned out to be a right piece of junk which was swiftly replaced with a hauck and did her until she could walk independently for a good distance which if i remember correctly would have been about age 3 this was then passed on to my friend who had it for another 3 yrs. Second one had a hauck travel system which folded flat but not telescopically it cost £100 with the car seat and did us until he was 18months then i decided i need something smaller so bought a hauck buggy for £40 again this did him until he was 3-3 1/2 and was again passed on to a friend who used it for her little one. Then with bubs i went straight for the condor it does fold telescopically and although bigger than a standard buggy it would have done him until he didnt need a pushchair anymore if i hadnt gone and fell pregnant again so im going to stick it on ebay :-):jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0 -
