Hello all
had a mega busy day at work and also had some bad news that a close friend committed suicide last week its not unexpected been coming for a few years after several attempts but still shocking and sad.
We have a classified ads board at work on the intranet (primary care trusts) and someone is selling their quinny buzz with seat unit and carrycot for £200 so emailed her and its 10mths old couple scratches but nothing majored and she will take the £175 I offered seen photos and looks lovely so hoping to get over there this weekend - is it reallt bad luck to store in the house, we have a garage but dont really want to put it in there.0 -
Thanks Crazy....
Doesnt help that I've got noone to talk to.... even the dog has fallen asleepWealth is not measured by currency0 -
Freebie - I have stored ALL my baby stuff in the house for all 4 babies!! I say go for it, sounds like a fab price:)
CAFC - I'm here, chat away.....Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not.0 -
Littlesis as long as your award is over the £548 amount you should be eligable for the grant the only time you wouldnt be is if you are recieving more than £548 due to having an child under one then the limit rises to i think £1095. These are last years figures though so i dont know if the limits have changed but if they have it wont be by much. It does have to be the family element though and not working tax credit or childcare :-):jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0

The sure start grant is annoying me too. Think we will be entitled after baby is born as oh self-employed so should get more than minimum ctc. We dont get any benefits at moment as both working. Why cant they just look at your income though as it would be handy to help prepare now rather than having to wait as i heard tax credits can take a while to come through.:j0

I'm just feeling sorry for myself
everything hurts and remember ive got madwife tomorrow and i just know they're not gonna care what i tell them.... i just feel like theyre not bothered with me.....
And I hate having to complain about things, im so easily fobbed off...... but baby's movements are really painful now, so much so they're setting me off in tears. i keep getting blurry vision and dark spots, got a ripping headache, back hurts, boobs itch, my stretch marks are so itchy and bleeding because i cant stop scratching, i feel sick, cant be bothered to cook any dinner etc etc.... but i know even if i tell them, noone will give a cr&p
Just all a bit woe is me...... and DH is at work......
I should never have gone out earlier!!!!!!:mad:Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
My tax credits took 10 days to come through! I have never had them take more than 2.5 weeks.
As for the grant.. the only time I wasn't eligible was when XH was a full time student and we were so skint we barely had food for 3 years. I have ALWAYS had higher than the minimum tax credits.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
I've always found that tax credits have gone through really quickly too, also you don't have to fill in the forms after your first application, just update them on the phone. I *think* you could probably send in the form a bit before baby is due to get the ball rolling and then update them when baby is born.
As for the sure start grant, I just got mine the other day and it took a week from when I first sent off the form. It is valid up until 3 months after babies birth so you could fill it in mostly then just send off as soon as baby is born/ you go on maternity, if you are in the situation of not being eligible now but will be once you are on maternity/ baby is born. It's a really simple form and if you ring jobcentre direct they will give you a freepost address to send it to.
Getting lot's of braxton hicks now, they are such a pain, I never really had them much with DD but can feel them a lot more this time round. Also kicks are much more painful this time too. Do they just get worse with every subsequent pregnancy?0 -

YES!!!
Unless you have an anterior placenta in which case the BH's are vile but the kicking is much less painful.
I've been getting loads he last week too.. and baby has turned breech again today and the head crashing on my ribs is agony.. coupled with the feet on the bladder and the horrendous hayftever I just want to cry.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
