  • Enjoying hanging out at home, only 12 weeks left ( hopefully I'll only make it to 9 !, 10 days early with ds)
House if finally tidy ( every cupboard, corner has been scrubbed ) I'm stocked up on everything I need for baby, got over 1500 nappies ( mixed sizes of course ) washing is almost complete, all that's left now is to disinfect all the stuff that can't be washed and wait for bubs. Got a massive bootsale weekend planned - normally only go on a Saturday but I'm taking mum to a massive one on Sunday it normally takes us 4 hours to walk round, "My name is MLSL and I'm a Bootsale addict:rotfl:"
Busy mum of 3, so if my posts don't make sense or ask a silly question be patient:rotfl:

I find icecream quite good, but the best thing is ice lollies, I went through loads this weekend!! I have sick-phobia, not sure how this will work with having a baby but we shall see!!

Glad I'm not the only bored one, I'm waiting for a meeting to begin, think it starts 4pm so theres not much point starting anything major!
the sick thing doesn't bother me so much with babies coz it's just their reflexes and its just milk that comes back up...completely different in adults, it's usually full of chunks/messy and self-induced and..OMG I can feel my stomach turning now:rotfl:....and gratuitous cartoon puking..makes me gag coz it's unneccesary Eugh!

At least you've got a meeting to wait for...I'm just waiting for 5:30 to hurry up and get here:D

Sounds about normal MV, good to see you here! I've only just got over my sickness but I am still funny with certain foods, just make sure you keep eating (its hard I know!) and keep to plain stoggy food. I still cant handle things with sauces, onions, pizzas, chinese or indian food. I lived off ready salted crisps and fruit pastels for a little while :A as it was all I could cope with! Now I cannot stop eating!!!

Thank kitkat...I have to say that eating is not a problem for me!

I'm a big foodie at the best of times, and it seems that I can munch away through nausea too...go me!!!:rotfl:

All the foods you mention above I love! I made a massive curry on saturday for some friends and that went down a treat, and I'm going for a curry at the weekend for my brothers birthday...I dont think I'll have a problem 9she says at the moment!)

Glad they found the heartbeat in the end tigtag:) I agree, they do sometimes sit up on their high horses preaching that htey know best...a bit like when I had been in hospital all weekend with bleeding, I was 37wks with ds2, and the midwife was insisting the tummy cramps I was experiencing was just an irritable uterus from the bleed. They were trying to discharge me, when I eventually persuaded her to check me over, and she found I was 8cm dilated!!!!!!!

Baby was moving loads late yesterday so, as I thought, everything is fine.......she/he is wriggling away like mad atm (still can't bring myself to refer to baby as a she...just in case!)

SURE START GRANT - Can I just take the completed form into my local jobcentre plus?

They are trained for a reason and I totally respect and appreciate that BUT sometimes mum really does know best!!

I cant claim WTC as I am 24 (think you have to be 25) or under 25 with kids, unless this has changed?!?! Might try to get him to claim JSA, even tho he is against claiming anything, I think we will need him to, and if there is a chance of getting the surestart grant, well even better!

Thanks for that link Cafc, I wonder if I can convince him to sign on?? :p

You can claim WTC once baby is born and then of you get more than the basic have 3 months to claim the sure start grant :D

Smartie - massive hugs - you must have been petrified!!

CAFC - arent friends brilliant :D

Thanks Cafc and 1more, I will speak to him tonight. If I say to him we could maybe get this grant he might be more willing, I always tell him its what we pay taxes for so its there to help us when we are out of work. Grrrr men! He just seems to think he is okay earning nothing/ claiming nothing but the problem is now he isnt paying any NI, so he will have a shortfall... again. As he was out of work before and didnt claim he had a nice bill for about £300 for NI, I've also got one for £250 which I still cant work out as at the time I wasn't even earning enough to pay NI (think you have to earn over £90 per week).

Does anyone know are you taxed on SMP? I presume so but I am just unsure!!

SMP is taxable - MA isnt :D
