was asked in sainsburys local if i was ok, and if i needed anyone calling, because the guy working there thought i was in labour LOL
Had to break his little heart by pointing out that in fact im just lazy and was using their stand to support my weight while i was queuing....
Woman behind the till was laughing at him, and predicts "given my size", 2 weeks and baby will be here.......Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
Reusables nappies:
Right, I think I most like the look of Little Lamb microfibre reusabales ( at least the price anyway). They do 20 nappies + accessories for £180 and our local council do £30 cash back. Checked Quidco but they're not offering anything - anyone know who else might? I've also checked ebay and the company sell direct on there too but for less with free postage but not sure if I'd be able to get my cashback from the council on that.
Anyone got any experience with microfibre? I'm drawn to them as they're fast drying and it'd be good not to have radiators covered in the things right through the winter (no TD and no room/inclination to buy one).
Cheapest by miles though is just to use terry towelling squares with a safety pin but I hated the plastic pants with DS and would like to use something more modern. I wonder if there's a way I could get decent outers to use with the terry ones?
Oh, Littlelamb also do a pay in instalments option and you can take as long as you like to pay them off as long as the minimum is £10 per time.
Had a look on nappy lady but I can't see anything better on there. Also someone else on Mumsnet has offered me bumgenius x 3 for £10 each but I think that's still quite dear even though it is cheaper than new.
Phew, I need a lie dowm after all that! :rotfl:
Any thoughts gratefully receivedUpdating soon...0 -
LOL on my scan, our baby gave us the finger
He's gonna be such a charmer I can just feel it with every boot in my foof!
Kitkat - we shopped around for disposables and did pretty well really. I wouldnt bother buying too many newborn/size 1's as there is such a cross over with size 2's. Plus if my little chubby wubby one is just that, chubby, I'll have a few packs going spare that I can send with your other bits. They were the £1 asda ones....my mummy stocked up for me
Your very kind CafcI think I have 2 packs of size 1 and one pack of size 2 atm. They were all bought with vouchers and I am just looking out for good offers (altho all of the baby events seem to have ended now- I was hoping for one more good one before August!)

I've now worked out that if I buy terry towelling inners from Mothercare (aka the most expensive shop in the world, as in can do it cheaper) they will cost £10 for 6, I could then supplement using Little Lamb wraps from Ebay £25 for 10 then other bits from Wilkos (bucket and pins mainly). Not shopped about to get that cheaper yet but it's quickly edging toward the paying for itself in about a month territory (excluding washing of course).
Just waiting for our council to email me back about eBay but if they don't they'll give you a trial pack (containing a whole 2 nappies) free.
Just off to get DS from schoolUpdating soon...0 -
Hi I'm a lurker for 15 weeks now (due 14th Nov). Just popped in to say I got Pampers in Tesco there, buy 2 get 2 free. They are the carry packs. 36 in the size 3 pack for £5.83. Works out £11.66 for 144 nappies.
If anyone is interested, I ordered the Baby Elegance Beep+ travel system. It has chassis, carry cot, buggy, car seat, car seat base and changing bag for £365. I looked at a few others, and i thought this was good value. I got it in a local shop, but this is what it looks like.
