Rach I have only really in last few weeks been feeling movements and nothing husband can feel when he places hand on my tummy and I am 25wks today.

Just placed an order with marks and spencer for a cute bodysuit for £4 for baby - had a code for 500 bonus points when spend online (so will get £5 back in vouchers) and had a free delivery code so makes it all worth while. (if you want codes have posted on discount thread)

Rach- just to agree with the others who have said not to worry about movement. Depending on the babies position you can feel less/ more movement, plus other factors such as placenta position, how much fluid you have, etc- so easy as it is to say, don't worry! :)

courgette- they seem a little on the pricy side, but still a saving. The motherease one size are a good deal, as are the wraps- but the fleece liners seriously, you can get a fleece blanket in Ikea/ poundshop for a quid and get 20 liners out of it!

I'm not a fan of the all in ones as they can take a while to dry, and also you have to wash the whole thing everytime rather than just nappy part but that is just personal preference.

Bucket sounds OK as I found it strangely hard to find one with a tight fitting lid, and tea tree and the mesh would be quite a lot extra too so seems a good deal.

Check out usednappy.co.uk for a quick comparison!

    HTH.

Great news on your scan Tinks!

Rach; try drinking hot or cold drinks, this always gets my bump moving! Had a cup of tea last night and every sip I had bubs kicked me to death! I am 28 weeks tomorrow :D I think everyone is different with movements, you feel them at different weeks and I know my MIL said something about the position of the placenta affects this?! sometimes I get kicked so much its almost painful, then it stops and I worry! These babies are very naughty!

Guna speak to my manager tomorrow about adding into my risk assessment about room temperature, my thermometre read 30 degrees C today in the office and I just feel this is too hot for a pregnant lady, it could have been hotter as my thermometre only read upto 30 for some reason!
Thanks. Thinking about it I did feel it a lot more on hols - partly as was thinking about feeling it more and partly all the cold lime and soda in pubs probably!!!

I'm sure there's some legislation about working temperatures. We have air con thankfully (and lifts, posh office block...for a council!!) I'll try and find it. http://www.hse.gov.uk/contact/faqs/temperature.htm and http://www.guardian.co.uk/notesandqueries/query/0,,-185434,00.html
Rach i wouldnt worry to much about the movements i couldnt feel much at all until i was past 20 weeks infact i was at my scan and the sonographer said how lively she was and i looked at her gone out as i couldnt feel anything. Apparently i have an anterior placenta which makes the movements harder to feel. She is making up for it now though and kicks the hell out of me :-D

thanks, to all of you for reassurance. I was already rather, erm, podgy, which apparently doesn't help either!

I think slightly on the pricey side but as they're all brand new still probably worth it for trying them out. You could probably strike a deal for a few bits. I will dig out the list of what I got (but I was very lucky after putting a wanted on netmums plus friend is giving me hers...i'm not fussy about 2nd hand really)
I must do some liners...today I got 2 packs of 8 flannels in the 99p shop, thought they might be ok as reusable wipes, and not much lost if not!!

    ok ladies.....

what do we think is the best option for hair....?
As in once you've had baby, would a short style which takes little washing, and a bit of product, but yet sticks up in the morning (and all day without a bit of said product) but yet doesnt need tying back and less likely to get baby sick in it, be better than keeping hair say shoulder length, being able to just tie it back, but yet likelihood is you would just tie it up for days and never really bother with it because it takes time to dry/straighten etc?

Im trying to figure out what to do with my hair!

Phew, finally made it to the end of the thread, I've had a busy and tiring week at work so far. But we had the aircon on today it was bliss! I was so hot in bed last night, the mention of fans sounds like bliss, I might have to get one this year if I'm this hot in May and have to get to September!

Louise - huge congratulations to you - you really deserve your bfp after you're long journey!:T:T

Sirmonster & Moneysaver - congrats on team blue! There's getting to be more of us now.:D

Smartie - so sorry bubs was still not playing nicely for yours. You'll have to bring the story out at every available embarrassing opportunity as he/she grows up!

I think it was Barksavingmad who was waiting for the induction.

Labour vibes to whoever wants them (sorry i've lost track).

CAFC - glad you got your money, I'm sure you could allow yourself a little treat :D

    Sorry I can't remember any more:o

I'm planning on using resuable nappies too - I currently have 1 pack pampers from the Boots changing bag offer, a voucher for a free pack of huggies and that's all i'm getting in disposables - if we need more when he's born OH can go get some! I've done a fair amount of googling on the subject, found 2 useful websites - one of which I can't remember the name but it is in the real nappy link at the beginning of this thread and I think they do hire kits or you can return nappies for 70% of the purchase price as a way to do a trial. The other site is called plush pants and you can hire nappies and wraps for £1 per nappy per week for up to 2 weeks so you can try a different range of nappies and wraps. I've read different reviews for different brands and I think what works for one person/baby doesn't necessarily work for all, so I'm thinking of using plush pants to get an idea then make my final decision (although like you confuzzled i don't think i could buy 2nd hand). Or maybe this is my way of putting off making a decision as I'm rubbish at them! But I have heard lots of good things about motherease wraps.
Confuzzled - I found ebay had some good value terry squares ranging from 1 to 20 per pack (new:D) - and the good thing is if you don't get on with using them as nappies they have other uses around the house apparently!

Anyone else also looking at reusable wipes and breast pads? I figure if I'm going to be washing nappies they should be a doddle!

Fernlie - how do you wash yours? Is it worth getting the sterilising powder that is added to the wash? I currently use wash balls (or whatever they're called) and the sterilising powder seems to be adding a load of chemicals but if it's necessary I'll get some.
