Happy Thursday ladies and bumps!! :D

I had my 36 week midwife appt on Tuesday. It was a different midwife and she actually listened to the heartbeat!! Everything is as it should be, blood pressure slightly low but nothing to worry about. I mentioned homebirth to her and she said she'd get my usual midwife to ring me to arrange a home visit to discuss it! She rang yesterday and she is coming in the morning sometime after 10am!! I'm so excited, it's actually starting to seem real now LOL
So today I need to get tidied up, floors done, and stairs hovered. The bathroom is still a bomb as DH is in the middle of re-tiling, and all the bathroom stuff is out on the landing  I so can't wait to get it all back to normal.

I met a friend in town this morning for coffee (well hot chocolate :D) and ended up browsing round as you do...I spent £45 in Peacocks!!! Got a lovely outfit for DD, a football top and a jacket for DS and a maxi dress, some cropped pants and a nighty for me :) Luckily I have a budget for these things, though it was more than I'd planned to spend! What I need next are some nursing bras and some flip flops :D

Right I'd better go and make a start on cleaning up this place!

Labour vibes to those in need, hugs for anyone feeling down, and happy sunny day to all :)

    Saz xxx
    (22 days to go!! EEK!!)
    :heart2: THANK YOU MARTIN!! :heart2:

I looked all over believe me! They don't do any mat/nursing stuff in my Peacocks it's a bit naff. I might try ASDA one day soon. My usual ones are starting to get a bit tight now! I feel the need to whip it off when it gets to tea time :D
Just sorted the bank account online...now I MUST clean up xxx
    :heart2: THANK YOU MARTIN!! :heart2:

    Hi everyone!
Had a really bad nights sleep last night, think thats it for me now i seem to wake about 5 times needing a wee or with heartburn! funny cos i dont remember it happening last time, got a lie in though cos OH was home from work till 2 today. Just realised I am 30 weeks now! I have a scan in 2 weeks to check position of placenta as it was blocking cervix at 20 weeks, Im really hoping it has moved as having a section is just a nightmare to me it really scares me! I can handle the pushing, episiotomys stitches down below e.t.c but the thought of some one having their hand in my stomach terrifies me! I know its irrational as they arent so bad but still!
Had a fab day today though, letter about my Maternity allowance came and they are starting to pay me from monday which will be arrears ( apparently if you are unemployed when you claim they automatically start it from 11 weeks before your due so i wonder if that is why yours is taking long CAFC cos you mentioned starting it in june?). Also my car insurance is up for renewal and its gone down by £40 a month, just feels like a lucky day!
Oh and my mum came round she had bought us the chicco polly sketching swing for baby, its normally £99 but is on offer on kiddicare atm for £49.99!

Anyway hope everyone is ok, seems a bit quiet on here today!

Confuzzled- haven't used actual terry squares but prefolds are fairly similar, you just fold them up then either nappi nippa them shut or just put wrap straight over the top. I've also used towels folded up a fair few times either due to not having a clean/ dry nappy or being out and running out of nappies. I found the prefolds fine for when DD was smaller but when she started crawling (just before 6 months) we started getting leaks. I think this was mainly down to using rubbish wraps though. If you were gonna use the terry nappies it is worth investing in good quality wraps then you wouldn't get leaks, but you may need more wraps as poo gets on the wrap more so you have to change the wrap each time instead of re-using it for the whole day iyswim.

Def a good option to try them out as they are so cheap and as they are the most fiddly if you can use them with ease then you can use any, so you can see whether it is worth spending out for more expensive ones. Also very good as they adapt well to any shape baby as you can fold them in so many different ways, very absorbant and easy to add boosters too, Also depends how adverse to the idea you are but on usednappy.co.uk you can get prefolds super cheap!!! My friend got 50 nappies and 12 wraps for £24.99.

I gave all my prefolds away about a month ago- typical! (otherwise I would have sent you them- sorry!)

Also if you do shell out for more expensive nappies remember they re-sell for a good price so you won't be losing out too much if you don't get on with them. Usednappy.co.uk amongst other sites (ebay won't allow it as it contravenes clinical waste laws!)

Phew! Sorry I ramble on and on!

I had midwife today for my home visit, all went OK, but bubs is now back to back so I'll be crawling everywhere from now on! Also have to go for a growth scan. but I'm convinced it is because they are in a different position rather than the fact they are too small iyswim. I've been so hormonal the last couple of days it's driving me mad. I've been in tears a lot!! It's getting ridiculous!

    THANK YOU FERNLIE:D:D
You timed that to perfection! was just on the nappy lady site:) will check out that website too..although not 100% sure about 2nd hand:o Hubbys snobbery is rubbing off on me:o:p:rotfl:
Think I will give the squares a go 1st when bubs is newborn as we'll be using a mix of disposable & reuseable anyway..depending who's looking after bubsrolleyes.gif plus with all the time I'll have at home I'll be able to feed, what I suspect may become, my cloth nappy addiction:p:D

Glad midwife app was ok and I'm sending you major Baby Turning Vibes:D:D

Fern - thats why the last madwife i saw told me. Because of the way baby lies, it affects how you measure so can mean you seem like you're measuring behind but its actually because baby hasnt got his butt jutting out.....
Mine is kinda laying a bit sideways, and was leaning toward being back to back.... so i've been trying all fours, leaning forward over gym ball, plenty of hoovering, a friend said about climbing the stairs on all fours as well....

Olipops - I wondered that myself as well. Welshie on the phone said there was a backlog and they were being done in date order, so im wondering if its date order as in date you ask for payments to start. I asked for them to start 23rd May.... dont ask me why, just pulled it out of my hat LOL But if Ive not had a letter by monday he said to call and chase it up...

Also turns out our HB entry was put in with one digit different for the sort code, so thats why that didnt pay in, and then you have to wait 4 working days for it to clear with your bank. GAH!!! Nothing is ever easy is it!

Already earmarked a "small" % of my MA for a day out for me to buy some new clothes after baby is here. Ive either stretched out everything i had pre preggers, thrown it out in a pregnant rage of "im so fat" or it just aint never gonna fit again LOL
