Thanks, I want motherease wraps...these are valid for a while so I will bookmark and see if cheaper than the nappy lady

fernlie - as resident nappy expert how many wraps of what sizes do you recommend? I have a few tots bots ones that came with my freebie rainbow tots but I know they're not all that and think i'd rather get better ones

shhhh, my hubby works for the same company and we both agree the new branding is sh!te. I mean, lower case letters too !!!!!!!!! And I aso agree about the stress of all the redundancies last year and they're now offering out overtime right, left and centre. They've even started recruiting again at hubby's branch!

I've overdone it today with the SPD and am hurting quite a bit this evening. I really really wanted to go to the home birth info evening but looking on the map it seems quite a long walk from where we'd park to the place so I really don't know now. They're on every month and I do have a while to go but still, I was really looking forward to it :(
could hubby not drop you off outside then go and park?

Aw you make me blush!! I'm def no expert, just a freecycle queen who was lucky enough to get to try loads out! :D

When I was using prefolds I used loads of wraps (I had 12 newborn and 8 size 2's, but got these all cheap on ebay or from freecycle) as poo would always end up on the wrap, once I switched to shaped nappies then I would mostly get away with using one or 2 a day so I only had 4 and that was plenty, I could wash every other day. We had no tumble dryer so nappies take 12-24 hours to dry in winter.

    http://www.thenappylady.co.uk/public/articledetails.aspx?id=43

With newborns you go through loads more and so you can either buy more nappies, or if you're going for 1 size nappies you can just use sposies as well then once their poo's settle down you have 15-20 nappies which I always found absolutely plenty (I had 15) or just wash more, it

You always end up with your favourite wraps though so it's good to keep any you have as back ups if you forget to put a wash on or they have a really pooey day!

Xmas- the recommended amount of nappies is usually a min of 20 but I had 15 and that was fine, it all depends if you are full time/ part time or what type of nappy you use, and how often you put a wash on.

I used fleece liners but don't shell out for these as you can just cut squares out of a fleece blanket rather than paying lot's for them.

    HTH.

In other (non nappy) news! I got my sure start grant letter through today, it is being paid in tomorrow! Yay! I only sent the form last week so it was really quick, haven't checked about my HIPgrant yet though!

I'm going to go shopping tomorrow for bubs and just buy a couple of cute bits as I haven't really got them anything new yet!

    Morning Fatties!!!!!!

Managed to get out of bed at a more reasonable hour of 10:30am LOL fed myself and Gordon is now chowing down next to me.....

I've decided our house smells..... and not nicely LOL so I want to get rid of the smell somehow.... its dog smell i think, despite being hoovered everyday the little so-so has managed to lay claim to the air i breath! Luckily its bright and sunny here so after ive got dressed, every window will be open :)

had a weird dream last night that my waters had gone, and then i woke up desperate for the loo, went, and pee-d for britain.... my sub conscious was obv trying to tell me something.

re homebirths - i think its brilliant for some people, especially those with kids already etc, and i understand how people want to be in their own space, but it would be traumatic for our dog, plus i dont find my house THAT relaxing. I plan on staying at home as long as possible, just so i dont get bored lol, and our house is 2 roads away from hospital so its not like im worried about getting stuck on a motorway giving birth or owt.....

    Morning everyone

Everytime I turned over to the right last night I had shooting pains in my hip and side. Now I am at work and sitting down is ok, but standing up and walking my hip and side hurts like hell, what have I done? Is this normal? I am now 21 weeks 4 days preggers.
