Arghhh i have a chocolate craving and the only thing in the house is bubs easter egg and i cant touch that

Rach i always do a wee sample you can guarentee if you dont they will want one ;-)

Gill i wouldnt worry about getting the drinks and snacks in there just pop them in a carrier bag it will save you having to turn your hospital bag out looking for that last bottle of pop/water that always dissapears to the bottom. What on earth is your DH taking with him? and they say we women cant travel light lol ;-)

Lol it's more that he doesn't have a very big bag!!

He has a towel & swimshorts incase I have a waterbirth. (I didnt think he'd be allowed in the pool but read somewhere he should bring them) He can't possibly have a smallish towel so has one of the biggest & bulkiest bath towels that we own!

He has a spare t shirt

A book (the only one he can bring is the big hardback version of Dan Brown's latest, doesnt want to read any of the hundreds of paperbacks we own)

His big camera along with all the paraphanalia

His small camera which is also a video camera (his first essential purchase when we got past the 12 weeks lol)

Then he had all the drinks as well.....6 bottles of water and 4 bottles of lucozade - did I get a bit carried away?? The only snacks I have so far are 2 packs of ready salted squares. Got a list of things to do at onset of labour which includes make sandwiches and pack flapjacks (a good excuse to make sure I always have a batch ready!) but not sure what else we should bring?

Gill.. when I had ALL mine.. XH took... a can of b.o.dourant.. and once he took a spare t-shirt (after we got blood on his with the last birth) they have a water cooler.. you don't need to take water.. just take one bottle and refill it! If you aren't allowed to eat in labour the last thing you want to see is him stuffing his face! Take the big camera out.. he is being excessive.. and give him a slap for wanting to take it.. I took a packet of biscuits and if he wanted food the canteen was about 20 seconds walk away!!

Sorry about your uncle Pigpen *hugs*

Hope your feeling better MLSL, just try to do things to keep you busy and happy. Hopefully being off work will help also. I suffer from depression and I am finding pregnancy hard, I have lots of down days and I have already cried twice today for no apparent reason, I am trying to keep happy, and ontop of things (after reading Dr Miriam Stoppards 'Bonding with Bump' I am trying not to get too down)

OH's job is under threat as it was only a short term contract, I just tried not to think about it but he has 4 definate weeks left, am praying he is extended otherwise to be honest we are screwed, i get a carp wage and only basic maternity pay when i leave in July (we have no savings, and rent, etc to pay) so feel bit low. Just hope something comes along otherwise we'll be living with my parents :(.

  • Kitkat _ I know how you feel, It's a bit of a long story but my work is up for sale ( part of a massive company ) looks like massive job losses, we just bought our house before Xmas, but you can't worry about something that hasn't happened yet otherwise you'd never stop worrying. Thank god we have a half decent benefit system in the UK ( in comparison to some less well off countries )

GILL I agree with pigpen ditch the water. The only things my Oh and the ex took when i was in labour was their phone and their wallet although Oh has said this time he wants a change of clothes after he tore his trousers on the bed last time right around his crotch would have been embarresing but i had packed a pair of his shorts for me to wear so he had to pinch them back (hopefully it wont come to that though as im hopeing my homebirth will go to plan). Books are good in theory but in practice very rarely get picked up can he not substitute it for a magazine much more likely to be read and alot lighter to carry. I think you pretty much have everything covered chick :-)

*We were going to drop off the first page*

So what does everyone do during the day? I'm soooo bored lately but I just can't seem to get any energy to get up and do anything. I mean I LOVE to bake cakes, but I just cannot be @rsed :(

Plus I'm so fricking cold all day...hmmm, do you think I woke up on the wrong side of the bed? :rotfl:

:( We're in rented accommodation til we can afford to buy our own house so I can't decorate :( Just Magnolia walls everywhere. All washing was done yesterday plus I managed to put the hoover around. Oh and hoovered the cars, but that was during one of my "I have energy moments! Quick! Do something!!" :D

Doesn't help that I was up sunday night vomiting and then DD had it on Tuesday.
