if you are living with OH and he is working.. you get nothing. you ma be able to claim the maternity payment after the birth based on income/tax credits etc
If neither of you are working you ... get nothing other than basic jobseekers for you both.. and nothing for the baby until it is born but can claim the £500 maternity payment at 28 weeks.. is it still 28 weeks?? Anyone?
He works fulltime and we don't yet live together. I just did that entitled to calculator thing and it looks like we would get some stuff but I dont know how accurate my data was.
Where can I go to speak to someone face to face and found out? I hate all these sh1tty online calculator things0 -
I'm not employeed! I'm still at Uni and don't technically finish until 12th June. If I can get some sort of part time job until baby is due then I might be able to use that, but currently I have nothing.
Is there anything if you are unemployeed?
Were you employed for at least 26wks during the 66wks before your expected due date if you were it will be calculated in the same way so if you have your pay slips you just need the 13 highest ones add them together then average it out :-):jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0 -

Don't think I'm gonna be one of the lucky ones who gets a nice neat bump....I'll turn into a blimp if I carry on at this rate:eek: DH was curious as I seemed to have got a little bump overnight so he measured me yesterday morning and again this morning....My waist got 1cm chunkier over night:eek::eek:
Glad you mentioned bump bands...will be looking for some soon:) anyone know the best place to get them from? price and quality wise???
New look were doing a pack of 3 bump bands for £10. I'm living in them at the moment as no tops seem to be long enough! No way am I buying anything new now though!
Due two weeks today and feeling a bit fed up. DS was 3 weeks early so I had mentally assumed this one would be too! I'm so impatient lol. Hope I don't go over as I'm sure I'm already making poor OH life a misery by moaning that I just want baby to hurry up!Back on the MFW Wagon!

Fuzz, I got mine from Topshop, cos at the time it was the only shop I could find one in. Been wearing it for months now, and it's holding up well, although I think it was a tenner, so I'd want it to! I know New Look do a 3 pack for a similar price, but don't know what they're like.

Ok forget that theory then! haha. I wanted pigpen to answer because if it turned out right for all of hers it would be pretty accurate! I'll just stick with the other old wives tale: if you dream of having a girl you'll have a boy.
Confuzzled: the last AF we thought was 4th Feb but it turns out from the dating that it couldnt have been. We worked out that she caught in mid/late january! perhaps i'm wrong (it has been known although its very very very rare)
Can someone tell me what exactly is a bump band? i keep hearing alot about them but i havent got a clue! :AMFW - <£90kAll other debts cleared thanks to the knowledge gained from this wonderful website and its users!0 -
Bufger, it's kind of like a boob tube (guessing you know what that is), that you can stick over the top of your trousers to hide the fact you haven't got them done up! They save on having to buy maternity trousers, especially in the beginning when you just feel a bit podgy rather than preggo. They also provide a bit of tummy coverage, like Wildfrog says, as sometimes your old tops aren't long enough.

ahhh ok. Does it offer any back support too? ive googled one now and it just looks like a larger version of those medical stretchy support things you get for ankles etc.
Does it get sweaty and/or will it as it gets hotter out? dont want to buy my OH one if its too hot to wear one!MFW - <£90kAll other debts cleared thanks to the knowledge gained from this wonderful website and its users!0 -
They do provide support, I went to our lovely GP when I suspected SPD and he said some women find it helps with the pain.Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession

Bufger, your theory only works for 2 out of my 4 (4 to be:D).........sorry.
5 days late and I'm beginning to get fed up
I really had to grit my teeth this morning going up to the school, does every idiot have to say "Still not had that baby yet?" I know they're being friendly but felt like saying !!!!!! off!! LOL Even DH keeps ringing me from work
I knew I'd be late but *sob* I feel like i'm gunna go the 14 days:(
DD1 was 5 days late but got induced
DS was 4 days late - came spontaniously.
DD2 was 6 days late after a sweep......
So I don't know how late I would've gone with both my dd's had they not been medically encouraged and as this is another girl I reckon we're in for the long haul ARGHHHHH
Doing Chilli tonight ( with some extra fresh chillies added for me:o)Busy mummy of 4.:j0 -

You will be able to claim MA either at a rate of £24.88 or £124.88, depending if you have contributed any NI in the 13 week test period 66 weeks before your due date. You also get £190 HIPG. You can claim MA 11 weeks before baby is due. If you don't claim it before the due date the your MA will start on the day of your babys Birth.
If you're not living with your OH you might be able to cliam Income Support. What's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..0
