Hi all, went for my midwife appt yesterday and I now have a new MW, she is really nice actually so thats fine! I have low iron levels so need to work on that, lot's of Spinach, watercress, green veg and Apricots for me, and I'm going to take the spatone as I soooo don't want to get constipated and risk piles!
Apart from that everything was fine and normal, it was confirmed that baby was head down which I already knew but means I can stop thinking about it!
Big labour vibes to all that need them! It seems quiet now after the recent spate of babies0 -

Thanks for all you're replies. Just a question, does the work have to be all for the same company? Baby isnt due until early November. Apparently I left my last job on 8th November 2009 and I worked there for almost a year but had a break of 3 months (ish) over the summer so working backwards, I definitly havn't worked for 26 weeks of the last 66. If I started a job now and worked, I might just cover the 26, which I am trying to do.
Is there anyone I can go to and find out about all this? Im very confused
Why not do What I'm doing? I've started my own business and registered as self employed. Aslong as I pay 13 NI contributions then I can get the full £124.88 a week for 39 weeks. NI is paid weekly at £2.40. If you did it now then you'll have more than enough time to pay for all the NI contributions and qualify for the full MA amount. Or yeah, you could go get a jobBut you would only get MA not SMP from your employer.
What's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..0 -

Was this easy enough to do i have been thinking of starting up my own business as a bit of fun really to see if it will make money (not too concerned if it doesn't) but if i can register now and start paying the NI getting the MA it would really help things along.
Do you have to prove what you are earning etc?I don't get nearly enough credit for not being a violent psychopath.0 -

I have been self employed for the past few years and have just had confirmation of my MA. All they do is check that you have paid enough NI contributions to get the full entitlement. My earnings through self employment have been nothing much, especially in the past year so I wouldn't worry too much about that0 -
ymake did you get the full £124 whatever???0

Yeah It's very easy. I just rung them up, said i've started a business and they sent the NI bill out 3 months later for £31.20 and you just pay it like that. It also helps that I'm self employed so I can Make websites for customers. MA is like SMP whereas you cannot work during the time you recieve it. You are allowed 10 "catch up" days and that's it.What's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..0 -
