Bufger mine works out to 45 and im having a girl :-):jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0
-
Add the age you were when you concieved to the month you concieved in. IE if you were 29 and you caught in May then 29+5=34. If the resulting number is even then its a boy, if its odd then its a girl. Ive worked this out for everyone in my family and it came out correct, a spooky coincidence?! my OH is 25 and caught in Jan (+1) so it should be a boy.
Well it is wrong for this one..
I'll work out the others..
DS1 (total 29).. nope.. wrong for him
DD1 (total 30).. nope.. wrong for her
DS2 (total 27).. nope.. wrong for him.
DD2 (total 34).. nope.. wrong for her
DS3 (total 31).. nope.. wrong for him
DD3 (total 29).. ooh we got one right.. but there was question over when she was conceived..
DD4 (total 32).. nope wrong for her
DD5 (total 33).. ooh.. 2 right
well it worked out right for 2 of my 9... that isn't very reliable.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

Also not sure if you've heard of this one before but try this for any other kids you have and tell me if it works. To tell the sex of the baby simply:

How we work out how much Maternity Allowance you get
We use the earnings rule to work out your Maternity Allowance.
If you are employed
The earnings rule means that you must earn at least £30 a week on average. We average your gross earnings over any 13 weeks in your Test Period. The 13 weeks do not have to be in a row.
By gross earnings, we mean the the amount of money your employer pays you before anything is taken off. For example, income tax or National Insurance contributions.
To work out your average gross weekly earnings, we will add together your gross earnings from each of the 13 weeks in which you earned the most. We then divide the total by 13.
We need to see original payslips for the 13 weeks you choose. Send in your weekly payslips or, if you are not paid weekly, send us payslips covering at least the 13 weeks in which you earned the most in your Test Period. For example, if you are paid monthly, send us at least 4 months’ payslips and we will work out how much you earn each week.
The amount of Maternity Allowance you get will be either the standard rate of MA or 90% of your average gross weekly earnings. You will get the amount which is the lower of the two.

I'm not employeed! I'm still at Uni and don't technically finish until 12th June. If I can get some sort of part time job until baby is due then I might be able to use that, but currently I have nothing.
Is there anything if you are unemployeed?0 -

if you are living with OH and he is working.. you get nothing. you ma be able to claim the maternity payment after the birth based on income/tax credits etc
If neither of you are working you ... get nothing other than basic jobseekers for you both.. and nothing for the baby until it is born but can claim the £500 maternity payment at 28 weeks.. is it still 28 weeks?? Going on Bufger's theory we will be having a girl - strange really as we suspect thats what bubs is going to be - purely by the heartbeat and comparing it to those that were on OBEM - obviously a scientific theory :rotfl::)Opinions are like ar*eholes - everybody has one!!!!0

Confuzzled, sorry you got laughed at, but hopefully it means baby Fuzz is getting along nicely in there if your trousers don't fit! I'm deeply in love with my bump band, so I suggest them to everyone on here (yes I know that's sad!)

Hi Samandona,
When is bubs due? The test period for MA is 66 weeks prior to the EDD so the job you left in October may well fall in this period. were your earnings more than £30 pw?Back on the MFW Wagon!
