Delain, how do the sensor monitors work? I mean if bubs is totally crashed out deep sleeping, would that count as not moving? I think I might be freaking out too much if that was the case, or is it different? Sorry for the questions, just not sure which one we're going to go for, cos I don't want the dopey cats thinking bubs bed is for them so will need to be shutting doors.

    they just do!

When I brought DS3 home from hospital he weighed 4lb 4 and it picked up his breathing through the sprung mattress when he was fast asleep.. they just work..

I used mine for 4 children (we have the angelcare one) and it NEVER went off unless they weren't breathing.. and because they were caught so quickly they were usually easily roused..

I bought another one for this baby too.. I am not taking the risk.. we almost lost DS3 when we didn't use it.. I woke up he was blue and cold and it took me ages to get him to breathe.. or it felt like ages!

I've had the angelcare one for all mine.

Thankfully.. I am THE person to call in an emergency.. I am VERY calm and just get on and sort things.. I fall to pieces later and I never panic!

Such as when DS2 came in the room with a 2.5 inch gash in his head on wednesday night that we could see his skull through... looks and sounds so much nastier.. but the blood was amazing.. for such thin skin there was so very much blood!

baby stuff all stacked on the landing under the table.. except the pram which is hogging lots of floor space in here!

I WILL have it decorated.. I WILL I WILL I WILL!!!

i also got the TT sensor from Asda, £40 when you clicked on it but on the main page was advertised at £50, and Amazon had it for £60...

DH is cooking himself a bolognese. I still dont fancy it. Mainly coz I think its going to give me heartburn.... and im just not hungry yet... Had two frijj milkshakes, a mint choc and the choc fudge one. Was SOOOOOO nice!

Freecycle woman has been round to collect old vhs player, so thats another thing gotten rid of.
Been organising babys wardrobe into the age groupings, and put away the final load of laundry.

Have decided I will get the ikea changing table and get rid of the table we've got in there I'm going to need some shelving underneath to access everything. Coz I cant keep a hand on bubs and reach everything i'll need due to layout of room. Also need to get some shelves up, but they're pretty cheap and cheerful ones from wilkinson..... And then just need to sterilise/wash out the baby bath we got.

    Jobs for tomorrow I think...

Right ok... so I've now gone from not going to bother with a monitor of any sort to now thinking we will get one after reading what you lot are saying:o

But I had nothing with DS.

I've looked at the TT one on Asda and read some reviews... both good and bad.

Pigpen... could you post a link to the one you've got please:)

Oh I'm a pregnant woman in a state of confusion!:rotfl:

    Angelcare monitor

I have no idea why in the reviews on there they are saying you need a board to go under it.. you really dont.. maybe they are just idiots or maybe they have fabric bottomed cots.. really bizarre!

We used it in a floppy moses basket, a wicker moses basket and the cot with the slatted base and never had a problem.

I wasn't going to get a monitor but the baby will only be in our room for few weeks but it will reassure me when he/she moves into their own room. Plus i have been told the baby will have asthma and I had my first attack when I was 3 weeks old, I think the movement monitor will reassure me otherwise I will constantly be watching the baby and checking if they're breathing. You sound like you've had some scary experiences pigpen. Is the monitor you've got the angelcare ac401 (I think!) it's on offer at tesco direct for £68.99 with free del, can't find it any cheaper!

Thanks for that Pigpen. I have my HiPG money to spend, so I think some of it will be going on something like that. Your DS sounds like my brother, coming home with random and bizarre injuries - and yep, heads do spout!

CAFC, those Frijj milkshakes are gorgeous.

Michelle, exciting about new house, but sucks about not having hot water or furniture just yet.
