morning all,
up and about, done the washing up, had brekkie, cracked a bit of my tooth off, annoyingly!hoovered, one load of laundry in, and now we're just re-organising the "boys" room (our second living room which has our old sofa, all the dvds etc. DH wants a second tv so he can have it as a games room)...... and then i think we'll be finishing off planting out the garden pots.
Was going to go to ikea today but I cant be bothered and i wanna use the weather to get the garden done....
we've also now also got the travel system donwstairs in the living room so that the dog can get used to it.Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
Well my day is looking up just had a call form the scrap yard about my heap of junk they are coming to collect it and paying me £100 for the priviledge and ive also just put a sale order through for my old phone with mazuma and getting £85 worth of argos vouchers for it. Woohoo i can't believe how much my old carp is worth lol.
I'm off to find more things to sell now ;-):jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0 -
After yesterday's mammoth sort-out (still catching up now lol) I've sorted out a whole black bag of clothes for my mum to take to work and give to her friend for her little girl. I did warn her that there's two of a few bits :rotfl:
Oh well. OH will be pleased that the house is finally getting cleanedMum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

I wish I could find things to sell. I'm starting to panic about how much this is all going to cost. As ive not yet finished Uni, can anyone who has done the MA route rather than MP give me a brief idea of how much I will actually get? Also, I know there are grants of £500 and £190 (is it?) that you can claim for in later pregnancy but am i likely to qualify?
I quit my part time job last October to concentrate on my final year of Uni and since I started looking for jobs again, its just impossible to find anything. Or rather, to GET anything. I feel like the world and his mother are applying for the ones I am. BF keeps saying "it'll all be fine" but i think its just blind ignorance. Or he's trying to make me feel better.
Feeling sorry for myself today0 -
Samandona: you should be entitled to the £190 defo but I unsure what else, I am sure if your not working you will be entitled to a few things. There is a website called 'entitled to' I think that tells you what you should be able to get. Otherwise it mite be worth looking at direct.gov.uk as I found that useful.
Well I'm off all this week it's lovely not been in workgota go food shopping soon then tomorrow my sis and mum are taking me out for my birthday
just with OH could come too

Hello everyone!!!!
Does anyone know if you can ask for a C-section and get one?? The reason I ask is that next week Im going for a scan (Ill be in wk 38 then:eek:) to see how my cyst/bubs head are lying and if cyst is in way theyre going to book me in for a C-section and then remove cyst at same time, but if its not in the way theyll leave me be and will call me back into hospital 2 or 3 months after bubs is born (if born naturally) to have cyst removed. Neither me or OH are keen on me going back into hospital months after to have the op and would probably much prefer a C-section straight off.
The way bubs has been lying these past 2wks it might not matter as its head has been up at my ribs and wont budge down below my belly button!!!Opinions are like ar*eholes - everybody has one!!!!0 -
After reading how you lot are doing major housework compared to me I thought I best get my fat !!!! off the sofa and do something.Debt Free Date:10/09/2007 :j :money:0

Hi all. Just a quick post before i go for lunch.
Had a good weekend. OH is getting really emotional so im stepping on eggshells at the moment! I think she has SPD, shes getting really bad lower back and hip/stomach pains in the morning and last thing at night and shes already struggling to move around even without a big bump - does this sound like it? what can we do if it is?
Also not sure if you've heard of this one before but try this for any other kids you have and tell me if it works. To tell the sex of the baby simply:
Add the age you were when you concieved to the month you concieved in. IE if you were 29 and you caught in May then 29+5=34. If the resulting number is even then its a boy, if its odd then its a girl. Ive worked this out for everyone in my family and it came out correct, a spooky coincidence?! my OH is 25 and caught in Jan (+1) so it should be a boy.MFW - <£90kAll other debts cleared thanks to the knowledge gained from this wonderful website and its users!0 -
Samandona i dont know if this will help but you may be able to work it out yourself. this is what i have found :
How we work out how much Maternity Allowance you get
We use the earnings rule to work out your Maternity Allowance.
If you are employed
The earnings rule means that you must earn at least £30 a week on average. We average your gross earnings over any 13 weeks in your Test Period. The 13 weeks do not have to be in a row.
By gross earnings, we mean the the amount of money your employer pays you before anything is taken off. For example, income tax or National Insurance contributions.
To work out your average gross weekly earnings, we will add together your gross earnings from each of the 13 weeks in which you earned the most. We then divide the total by 13.
We need to see original payslips for the 13 weeks you choose. Send in your weekly payslips or, if you are not paid weekly, send us payslips covering at least the 13 weeks in which you earned the most in your Test Period. For example, if you are paid monthly, send us at least 4 months’ payslips and we will work out how much you earn each week.
The amount of Maternity Allowance you get will be either the standard rate of MA or 90% of your average gross weekly earnings. You will get the amount which is the lower of the two.
