I bought a monitor with my last one and i used it a total of 3 times as it made me completely paranoid. Never bothered for the other two and i dont think i will bother with this one either. It is definately personal preference but if there is no problems or family history then i think they can make you worse than not having one at all. Obviously if there have been problems like pigpen has experienced or have upfront knowledge like kitkat then i would get one otherwise i wont be bothering. Bubs is very rarely out of my sight let alone earshot for more than 5 mins at a time and it will be the same for the new one.
My head is banging and it wont go away ive been drinking water like a fish to keep hydrated but i think i am going to have to cave in and take some tablets before bed. I wish i fancied vegetable more cafc ive just nommed my way through the most discustingly fattening pizza and chicken wings :-):jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0 -
Folks,
Woo Hoooooo!!! Hope you ladies are all doing well and I'm sorry I've not been hear for ages, but just wanted to give you a quick update :-)
Everything it's doing very well this end. The due date is just over four weeks away and Mrs AB left work last Friday.
We now have everything in place for the arrival, with the travel system, bath, Moses basket, play pen, high chair, bouncy chair thingy (which also has an electronic swinging stand contraption), nappies, wipes, clothes, play area, toys, clothes etc. etc. etc.
I've also now got the nursery sorted (aside from the curtains, which I'm fitting tomorrow!!) -
It's all getting amazingly real now, but also very exciting in a very positive way!!
I'll try and pop back before Baby AB (Billy (William Joseph) or Izzy (Isabel Ivy)) arrives, but if not will at the very least make you folks aware once it all happens!!
Hope all is good with you guys

Army the room looks lovely and you sound very excited i hope all goes as smoothly and painlessly as possible if we dont hear from again until bean is born :-)
Question for the hypno birthing ladies on here....
When you listen to the cd's do you feel like they are doing anything. I ask as when i listen to them yes i relax but am acutely aware of everything around me still but then on the otherhand i do relax quite a bit as i normally end up falling alseep. I'm starting to think im not doing it right. Do you have any tips especially for the visualisation parts i really struggle with the walking in the woods and the beach i have tried to relate them to places i know rather than making them up other wise i get all sort of conflicting images in my head but then i start to wonder off on a tangent and think about the times in my life that were spent in these places. Do you think maybe if i got some pictures of places like the woman describes and just spent some time looking at them in detail that it may help to focus my mind?
I dont have any problems visualising the birth parts of the disc and enjoy that part at the end. I can actually feel myself smiling and i can feel that lovely rush of emotion you get when you first meet your baby. I think Alex is starting to get used to the discs as well as i can feel her wriggling around like mad when ever they are on. :-):jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0 -
ArmyBike, that's a cute nursery, and I like both the names you and Mrs AB have chosen.
Xmas, I've no personal experience with hypnobirthing, but it sounds like a good idea to get a picture that's unrelated to the places you know as it might help you to focus more without distracting you with familier memories.
Ugh, got the weepies last night. Made the mistake of weighing myself and felt fat, then I started thinking about my mum going home (she hasn't even arrived yet) and how I don't want her to go. Daft really, OH just called me a hormonal nutter and gave me a big cuddle.

With terrys nappies do you have to dry them after you wash them 3 times before you use them? Or can I just keep bunging the washer back on after it's finished the load?Debt Free Date:10/09/2007 :j :money:0

I washed mine once.. they are worn for such a short period it doesn't matter if they are not 'fully absorbant' the first few times they are worn. It isn't like the washing is to remove dirt, it is to increase absorbancy.. once is plenty.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
