well havent been around for a while, but I have good news. Bank account is finally all sorted and starts on the 1st september :j I am really pleased as it means I can now take full control and know exactly where I am each month. I have done all my figures and for the first time in years, I will have money left over at the end of every month which I going to put into a savings account (in my name only!).
It feels great!!!!!!! lol. The next few days might be a struggle till the 1st, but I have got enough in the ole store cupboards to see us thru and OH is working all weekend anyway which is a good thing as it means he cant go out and spend any money!:rotfl:
Need to get more regular again on here, now ive finally got the worry of the bank account of the way.
Hope you are all well. have a good day guysLBM: April 2009 - honest debt figure: Secured: £0.00!! (paid back april 2017) unsecured: £53117.48 (roughly) back with CCCS starting again:(0 -

Hi all,
Well the bank account is going well as least I know where I am now.
However, feeling a bit anxious at the min.....I will explain!
OH is selling our convertible (finally!) and has decided to get something more practical however, the difference between the 2 vehicles is just under £4,000:eek: We have only got half the money in savings so a family member has said that they will help out and we will pay them back. But, the money wont get to us until next week and we are seeing the car on friday. So I have had to dip into my new current account money and borrow it!!! I am now stressing thinking, if we dont get the money from the family member by next wednesday (they have promised us by tuesday latest) my DD will bounce and one of those is the mortgage:eek:
I have tried to talk OH out of it and said lets delay for a while, but he is stubborn and anxious to move on and finally be more practical. He tried to get a loan and was turned down flat.
So I am now keeping my fingers crossed that the money is transferred from the family member asap as promised. I dont want to keep hassling/reminding them, but this flaming important!!!
rant over now, hope you are all ok and still going strong with your debt busting!!!!
speak soon xxLBM: April 2009 - honest debt figure: Secured: £0.00!! (paid back april 2017) unsecured: £53117.48 (roughly) back with CCCS starting again:(0 -

Sorry i missed this at the time, but surely you could have put a deposit down on the new car, and then paid the balance when you picked it up. That way you would have definitely had the cleared funds.
Was it a bit of a shock to him when he got turned down for the loan?

Hi guys, sorry havent been around for a while I have had so much to deal with, its been unreal! but im back, and welcome back savingwannabe:j good to see you.
Well, everything is going fab with the new bank account, its great seeing money left over every month and I have now started to pay for things in cash instead of OH using the cc, for the first time ever, I can even pay for insurances cash!:j
The family member came through with the funds in plenty of time, so that was a huge relief. Been having a few issues where we are doing our own dmp, scalifax have not done my OH review as they stated and have now sent him a default notice stating give us over £1,000 by this date or else! I have now rung them over 6 times during September and have sent 2 letters recorded delivery, and each time I have had the ususal we have never received your letter, dont know what you are talking about  I am still sending the payments that we offered on time and have now been over the dmp mutual support thread for advice. I think its time for me to get the FOS involved, also barclaycard who im with, have gone against their word, sent me a letter stating will freeze all charges etc and are still charging me! so they are gonna get it in the neck!!!!
other than the stress that scalifax are causing, things are not too bad. getting to grips with everything now, and at the min, dare I say it! the future looks bright!
have a great day all, hope you are all well

welldone on making some head way. glad to see that you have managed to sort things with OH. did it take some convincing, or did he see the light on his own, re paying down the debts.

hi all,
not been around for a while again........been having a few family issues and my head has been all over the placeI have been so lapse just lately with my batch cooking and we have been getting away with murder with takeaways etc and I have really fallen off the wagon as they say. Having some issues with doing a dmp myself but I am getting there. Have to had to rein in OH a bit as he wants to spend and change things around the house....not that anything needs changing, its just that every now and again, he gets a real bee in his bonnet and it makes me very
I am making headway with our debts, but it does feel like a very slow and painful process, I feel like I am constantly battling and my health, I feel, is suffering. I am doing a job I dont much like at the min, and I am literally getting colds like every 2 weeks  at the min.
I need to come on here more often, check out the different posts for batch cooking, spending less etc. I feel like I have really lost my way just lately. anyone fancy giving me a kick up the backside?? all of you, feel free!! :rotfl:
hope you are all well.
