Post office will be able to quote you, and they have a £50 cashback offer on at the moment.

I used McWhirters to get my quote. It is an NI company they got me a quote some £300 less than the next closest.

open and direct don't insure under 21s so that's out

for me admiral, elephant and diamond were all the most competitive as a young driver (they are all the same firm, just give slightly different weightings to different things, e.g. diamond reduces the premium slightly if you're a girl). they seem to be more competitive if you have an older car rather than a newer one though.
  • Sorry ...he was driving on my insurance at the time he was learning. If you get a good price for him let us all know...
  • I'm a provisional licence holder.I got a quote for 875 through admiral(third party fire & theft).
    go through https://www.confused.com

    try it..
  • Just re-newed my car insurance. Renewal quote was £471 Quinn Direct, but AXA Direct 0800 282820 quoted me £435. Thought I was doing well until I got a quote from ab&c (Alan Brown & Company 028 38 322881) for £395.

Quinn Direct wouldn't even attempt to compete so placed the business today with ab&c.

    Good Luck All,

A tip worth remembering here is that while one provider may be competitive for one individual quote, another person trying the same provider may find that they are quoting crazy figures.

All information posted here is exactly that, information. It's a starting point to possibly help you on the way to getting the best quote for you.

There are no obvious answers or quick fixes here, unfortunately, you still have to do your own legwork. :)
    Good luck!!
