well i filled in my online form with cccs yesterday and have today rung all my creditors and made token payments. it all seemed a bit easy today and the creditors seemed to be quite accepting of my payments (apart from natwest!!) but we will see once cccs get involved.

feel very nervous now about the whole thing!

Just a bit of news from me....HSBC are BACK!! Duh duh duh....!!!

This is going to be a bit vague as I didn't read the letter properly on Friday and then avoided it all weekend :o

Basically I think they're offering to replace my current loan (£8.5k) with another (£10k ish) where the payments match what CCCS are offering (well £2 less) per month. It will last 5.5 years, which is roughly what I was expecting with the DMP anyway (usless I can shave some months off).

So...I'd still be paying them interest, which isn't ideal, but then as it's seen as another loan (I need to sign paperwork and send back) it shouldn't (hopefully) effect my credit rating too much.

Any of you guys had this with HSBC? Any advice? I'm going to call the CCCS today/tomorrow.

I do need to re-read the letter properly and check the small print as there could be something I'm missing!

Thanks to your post above I was forearmed tonight when HSBC sent me the same letter about a loan and how it would get me out of debt. Might help them, it wouldn't help with my other creditors, so that will be a "No Thankyou". I'll be phoning Pay Plan about it in the morning. Did you get an outcome? Turn it down etc.

  • OKAAAY, so I boshed out letters to my 4 creditors today, having spoken to all of them - for all the good that does.

I told them that a DMP via CCCS on my behalf was coming their way , and as I was due to make a payment in the next 10 days, here's a reduced pro-rata cheque, in line with the offer that will be in the DMP.

Just waiting for the paperwork from CCCS now, and then presumably a few rucks with creditors along the way.

THANKS SO MUCH for the support you lot, it really helps to share with people who 'get it'. Mrs Snapper is on board but can't stand to talk about it , and I have been able to confide in friends and family (yet?), it all feels like such a screw-up !

Loving the in jokes and jargon now, Mrs Snapper wanted to rename out house - while we still live in it :( - as "$h1t creek". So I guess a paddle is in order.

Waitress, I 'll have the paddle please!

Next priorities: cut costs, earn more, re-fuel pigs with aviation gas.....

    BS Out
The Blue SNAPPER snaps back! ;)

  • PDD, Welcome home, hope you feel suitably rested soon.

Blue you are making good progress!

Regret & Andy - Good news!

True - great news on fuel bills. Dodgy hugs for putting up with MIL

Jeddy - fingers crossed for HSBC

I've come home to a letter from M & S, agreeing to DMP with 0% interest for one year.

Then had 3 calls from text machines, non interactive saying my debt (oh yes ?which!!!!!!) has been passed on to debt collection agency who will be 'attending' my home. Gives me a number for Philips to call. Have googled it and apparently this number keeps you on for 30 minutes and charges you a small fortune. Not sure if creditors have to rell you if they have passed it on and who to? I would have gone to pieces just a week ago but have learnt so much of here I know it's unlikely they will come and what to do if they do. Worse thing is am dreading them calling if I have a pal here, damn. Any clues anyone?

    HHx
  • Hope (much better !!)
If they have sold you they got to tell you, if the DCA is just working on their behalf, they don't. They have no right to visit you(doubt if they will though) but if they do they can just be asked to leave and if they don't you call the police because it is trespass.

    Hi all:wave:
Feel like I've been away a long time again...but not away - dealing with step two of the emotional stress repercussions of our dmp process.....this one is much more obvious....I am like a mad itching spot monster, covered head to toe in an allergic stress rash, which i've had to a lesser extent before, but this time it is of a guiness record magnitude so not been able to think let alone type without scratching.....its ok you can laugh:rotfl:anti histamines are taking effect. Should have sent pic to all creditors!!!
and ds the younger is poorly poorly sick his turn for tonsillitus but bad bad bad, massive high temp, 2 year old complaining of headache  so been nursing or scratching or both.

So sending massive dodgy hugs to all :grouphug:
Am going to play catch up AGAIN now!
