I dread my husband having a day off work and opening the post! i have tried every cunning way to get to the post first, even insisting on us going to the gym on a saturday morning so i can open the door first and grab the post on the way home. i guess reading it and writing it down makes you realise how desperate things have become. i am feeling more positive today and although my DMP hasnt been started yet at least i have made the right steps (fingers crossed!)
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Sorry for laughing but I DONE THE SAME THING!!! I'd run into the house, grab the post and the phone at the same time, dial 1471 and hide the bills between one of many catalogues, all before he could get out of the car, while I also attended to 3 kids and 4 barking dogs:eek:
It's good to know there are more of my kind out there......
Here's a tactic I have used.....
"dearest hubby, you have a nice lie in on Saturdays and then its my turn on Sundays".......:rotfl:Paddle no. 12

Debt at LBM £23,0000 -
Hi all,
finally managed to get on here. I was on page 34 writing away and silly computer crashed. Then internet broke too.
So how was everyones weekend? I started work yesterday, very odd considering i haven't worked for 3 months. Managed to negoiate myself onto level 3 of payscale instead of level one so when i go full time i can really start making a dent in debt. need to save for a car first damm it!!
Oh well, well done True seems like your making headway starting the DMP and VICB yours in June.

On Saturday evening, a friend of mine who runs a pub with her boyfriend asked me if I could help out with the sunday lunchs because their chef had suddenly walked out on them and they had 30 bookings for the next day. I accepted and promptly showed up for work at 10am, worked non stop until 3pm and then enjoyed a free roast dinner and a couple of beers as reward for my efforts as well as £45 'wages' and £5 in tips. they asked me if I would be available to do the same shift next sunday so I said yes. They then told me it could become a regular thing as they thought I'd done a good job. I told them I'd be happy to help out as and when they needed me because I was looking for some extra income and I love cooking.
So my question is this: seeing as I am due to start my DMP in June, should I tell the company running my DMP about this potential source of new income as it does represent a change in circumstance, or, seeing as this was a one-off and I cannot bank on this being a regular source of guaranteed income (not to mention the fact that it was done as an 'ahem' favour), should I just stick to basing my surplus income(what I will be paying to my creditors via my DMP) on the wages I get from my full-time job?
I really hope I can carry on doing the sunday cooking there, they're really nice people and I've always wanted to work in a professional kitchen but obviously, I wouldn't be able to carry on doing it as a 'favour' for too much longer before a certain taxman decides to pop in for a meal and a chat..
Hey Brokepaolo,
Welcome along, well done with the extra work on Sundays it really helps. Was just reading through your post you mention a 'company' running your DMP are they charging you?? If so you can switch to CCCS or Payplan at anytime who are free, giving you extra money to go to your DMP.
to be honest and this isn't honest Don't worry about the tax man, if they are happy to pay you from their books cash in hand then so be it. If you do become regualr they may put you on their books and you'll be taxed at Basic rate 20% roughly.
good luck G x0 -
Hi
after months of getting myself in debt i have sunk deeper into depression and have now defaulted on 2 loans and an overdraft. i havent slept properly for ages and feel so sick.
i have contacted cccs this morning and agreed a DMP, have i done the right thing?
i was told to make token payments this month, i get paid tomorrow, and they will then set up the plan.
