You have all been busy to-day.
How did it go Ted with CCCS?
Vic did you ever get the HSBC loan sorted out?
Paolo if it's not official guaranteeed money, don't declare it. I get commission but that is not taken into consideration because its not guaranteed.

    Good Afternoon All

Just want to declare that I have spent no money today. Took sandwiches for lunch and refilled the water bottle with tap water. Generating cash on ebay through selling kids toys etc so things are looking positive. Changed all my essential Direct Debits over to the new bank account. So life seems good to me today, lets see what happens tomorrow.

Forgot to mention that I changed my bank account to Halifax and they are now paying me £5 per month every time my salary goes in. So over a year that is £60 not bad for changing bank accounts.

Hope everyone else has had a good day.

    Regards

    Mikon

PDD - meant to ask how you work out your fuel expenses for your budget?? DH has to travel and reclaim expenses and I'm just wondering how to budget for it?

    Hi everyone

    Question

If the UK has a massive financial deficit why does Gordon Brown and Alaistar Darling join us here and set up a DMP for the UK effective from the 1st June 2010. This way essential services in the Public Sector need not be cut and this will in turn save jobs which means the amount of taxes received will not be affected.

Maybe I should run for Prime Minister. What do you all think.

  • yes Mikon, go for it, after all could you do any worse????? and at least you don't pretend to be Prudence>>>>>>>>>
Well done Ted, so glad you are sorted out, welcome to the merry DMPers
True I just discount my expenses, they don't go in as income as they aren't really as they are just paying back previous spent amounts iyswim. The problem with this is that you have to have money to pay the first month's expenses so that you can claim them back in the second month and live on those for petrol and expenses. God this sounds really complicated. Did he have expenses before??? Have they offered a float? Will he be getting a company credit card? If he is going to be away staying in hotels, he needs a company cc, on average mine are around £1000 month just for hotels, entertainment and hospitality. My petrol is seperate, I get 25p per mile and that's what I claim every month, company takes care of cc bill which is in company's name. Does all of this make sense???

Ah ok, so I just need to budget for the cost of the fuel and then when he claims his mileage back I don't count it as income because it's just going to fund the next months travel? They aren't giving him a float but they have said they won't send him far in his first month so he's had a full paypacket before he has to start claiming, he gets like 45p a mile so will that include food as well as fuel? Not sure on the credit card bit, but sounds like I wouldn't have to worry about that anyway if the company sorts all that out. Think it makes sense...

  • 45p a mile is not good, cos the government in its wisdom only allows you to claim 40p per business mile tax free, anything over that is taxable..............

Is he going to get a company car or are you providing the car? Do you get an allowance for it from the company??

its quite complicated and gives me a headache every year when I have to do my tax return...........
