go Mama to Cornwall, told you a private let (sounds a bit daring???) would be cheaper, no booking charges etc.
Calm down True, there must be a mismatch somewhere, do it again and look at everything carefully, are you sure you've covered all the yearly bills (ie tv licence, car tax insurance etc) and enough to feed you all ? Is there anything you've forgotten, I was allowed to put in £150 towards DS's uni fees and against our contact lenses and prescriptions. Look again honey, you must have gone wrong somewhere but calm, not worth your blood pressure.
We dn't pay 1% either Ted and no one seems to have bothered, ours is about the same as Mama's, M&S did mention it but still stopped interest, so don't worry.
I have been terminated/incorporated/whacked by RBS on both accounts and have now received letters saying that they will no accept DMP as long as I am good, hallelujah
Thanks folks, back is much better, I have stopped groaning (people were looking!!!) and am now nearly straight iykwim
Sun is shining here in Scotland, at last so going to catch up and read paper on deck!
Indeedeedoo you were right PDD - very grateful for you guiding us it the right direction (on this and of course all the other things too!)
Good to hear your back is on the mend and you have some sunshine and that rbs have finished mangling you.....it is very much be a good person letter, or we'll send you to the head teacher! Just look forward to seeing the statement when it shows zero interest!DMP mutual support thread member 371LBM Jan 2010DMP Paddle No 20 -

I have had two more letters that I need to speak to CCCS about on Monday. One from Tesco asking for SOA and an explanation of why I am in debt. Assume CCCS will tell me that they will send the letter. The other was from MBNA, agreeing to drop interest from 30% to 8.9% and to suspend late charges this all being subject to periodic review. Two snags with the letter, 1) asks for payment by the 12th and if they don't get by then they will cease the programme. I have seen this in posts before and CCCS usually say it will be ok so keeping my fingers crossed. 2) They say they are going to report the arrangement with credit reference agencies for upto six years after the balance has been settled in full. - does anyone have any information on this guys? I thought they had to issue a default and it was 6 years from that being issued, not 6 years after final clearance. Not that I ever want credit in future but would like to shop for a better mortgage rate in a few years time. Advice please!
Hi HH
I agree with what you think on both your points, and have not heard of 6 years from the final clearance. You could give mbna a ring on the number from the letter - they might change the statement date for you, worth a try if you feel up to it?DMP mutual support thread member 371LBM Jan 2010DMP Paddle No 20 -
Morning all!!
Everything is still really quiet on my DMP plans, I'm bored of sending tokens thats for sure, really want to start making proper payments!! Really don't feel like I'm getting anywhere sending them a quid each, especially as I've just had a play with CCCS Debt Remedy again, including DH's and my payrises and it came back saying "you can afford to make all your repayments, keep it up!" Felt like crying to be honest, 5 months of torture and sh*tty letters and phone calls and default notices and now that! Don't know what to do now... I'm sure its not right, I mean my budget shows that I have about £200 to make debt repayments while the "orginal" payment amounts are around the £700 mark - seriously hoping that I've done something wrong....
True would it be worth filling it out on Pay Plan as a double check?
I'm sure this is a stupid question but I'll ask anyway.
When PP went through eveything with me they mentioned things I had not thought of. Obviously Rent (in my case) Council Tax, Electric, Gas, Water Rates besides the debts to M&S, HSBC and Barclaycard. They allowed me more Housekeeping than I would have given myself and thank goodness they did. Things like Optical, Public Transport, Medical/Dental, Hair Clothing/Footwear, TV Licence, Telephone (Landline and Mobile), Union Subs etc would not have crossed my mind, they are not much but in the great scheme of things but it is amazing how much they add up to a month as an allowance for when they are needed, I'd have lumped all those under Housekeeping. So stupid question is, have you allowed for things like that?
If my TV and Fridge had not packed up within three weeks of starting the DMP token and now for real, then I would have had a nice emergency fund going with those little extras. Now I have been able to pay cash for the replacements (fingers crossed that nothing else breaks though ) and it was a nice feeling knowing they weren't just going on cards that would not have been paid and got me into this mess in the first place. I'm hopeful that the time to debt free is around the time it would have taken to pay off the last loan I took out and I might have some "real" money to use each month.
Agreed it would have been nice if BC had stopped the interest and they still might.
Good luck.Paddle No 21 :wave:0 -

I think we've had the default question before in the early days and I'm sure that once they have issued a default then that stays on your record for 6 years and then its gone - the 6 years start from the date of the default, not the date of final clearance. I think these creditors just say things like that to frighten people to be honest. Definitely worth checking with the CCCS though.Paddle #8 DFW Nerd #12840 -
